This film would have been a million times better without Jack Black. Jack Black playing air guitar = Dr. Evil, Ace Ventura, and Billy Madison all rolled into one pile of not funny

Wow, this movie was BAD. Do not recommend seeing it. The funniest parts are in the 30 second commercials and the rest of it is just boring.

Agreed. You can count on Chuckles to even fuck up something as simple as a movie review.

I absolutely loved this movie. The crowd I was with last night in Alderwood seemed to love it, too. Go see it with an open mind.

Michel Gondry was on the "Stuff White People Like" blog Charles linked to, so maybe this is why this movie confuses him so.

but people, the bad stuff in this movie is not innocent. it's bad stuff that is totally aware of what it is. if a film knows it's in the role of bad plot turns and dream twists, what is it? what do we call it? is it playing bad well? in that case, playing bad well means it's a good film. do you get what i'm getting at?

"As a critic, I surrender."

What a piece of shit excuse for a paycheck. Get a real job, asshole.

I adore Michel Gondry. His imagination is so unique and wonderful. I know this film isn't for everyone, but it warmed my cold, black heart.

I agree w/ Charles re: his @7 point. And his surrendering was the most refreshing "review" I've read in a long time. @8-I'd rather see him earn a paycheck being honest than doing a ho-hum-i-gotta-think-of-something-clever review.
