There Is No Morality Without Religion

That sounds like a lady in my Apt building. "If you don't have jesus in your life, blah, blah blah..."
Thanks for the reminders, Dan.

Harper should have used Brent Krum's defense attorney, who got a paltry 6-month sentence.

"The crimes took place in 2004 and 2005 when Krum, 37, was a youth-group leader at Summit View Church in Redmond. In January, he pleaded guilty to three counts of third-degree child rape and three counts of third-degree child molestation."

(Oh, and BTW, he's appealing the 6-month sentence. Maybe he'll ask for a reasonable amount of time in prison, instead of an unjust slap on the wrist (pat on the back) that he received...)

Any dude - fag, homo, or otherwise - senses a certain 'Wrath Of Balls' in his own day-to-day, right? I mean, come on, fuck man, don't pretend to shit me here men, right? Balls will fuck you up in whatever way that the frown shows up afterwards, right?

You see a horse kick up on its back legs, right? You've seen it. Ok, so he's pawing around with his front legs up in the air and that is cute and friendly and everything, right?

So he are content to think that his gimme-your-paw is what's pretty, right?

No.

He's primarily showing you his balls. His dick and his balls.

Charisma is the most important deciding factor in my vote for Rapist.

The sad part is that when some mouthbreather joins a group like "The Church", which is obviously a cult because it's called THE CHURCH, it's never them or their equally muffin-topping spouse who gets to play stinkfinger with Pastor Bob. No, it's their poor defenseless children.

"We're happy with this... Everybody is relieved. My daughter is happy about it, too."
Yes, I'm sure she's thrilled.

"Deputy Prosecutor Kelly Montgomery was stunned at the hold Harper had over his congregation. "It is amazing to me how much power someone can wield and use to take advantage of someone else," she said. "Whether they're pastors or police officers or priests, it just cautions all of us to be on alert with our kids. It can happen under your nose.""

Jesus Christ - this woman is a PROSECUTOR?!? It sounds for all the world like you might really ruin her day if you gave her the real scoop on Santa and the Easter Bunny.

It takes religious ideals to guarantee come-uppance to terrible people (like this one).

Christian ethics has its purpose in describing the vast range of moral failure, not proscribing moral success.

By the way, Charismatic doesn't necessarily mean the ordinary definition. The greek word "Charismata" is used to describe the spiritual gifts of the New Testament, those most prominently emphasized by "Charismatic" Christians being speaking in tongues (think Borat), healing and prophecy.

This, if you want to start your own cult, make a lot of money and deceive people is fertile ground. By faking the "prophecy" thing well, claiming more gifts and "spiritual blessing" than the next guy, people who forget to "test all prophets" are pretty easily hoodwinked (the ol' Abe Lincoln saying, you can fool some people all of the time).

Charisma got Bill Clinton in bed with the American voting public. We still haven't filed charges.

Yeah right. We all need an invisible friend in the sky to be moral. I think these reminders of immoral acts by religious leaders are valuable. The fact that we can say whatever we choose, including mocking religion itself takes away the power of religion. It helps to neutralize religion as a means of social control.
The fact that we can blaspheme with no fear of government reprisal is a big blow against those who desire a theocracy. Keep 'em coming, Dan.

@11 you have balls for dissing anyone but obama for charisma in the current political climate.
i can't think of anyone who's made this much buck off of charisma in the recent past. its silly to bring up anyone else.

and by the way..."charisma" "power" "cult"....hmm, all those words have been associated with a certain political campaign lately. freaky.
"right under our nose...."

I just want to know how many other wierd-ass cults are lurking "behind unidentifiable fences" in Washington state? CREEPY. And is there something in the Bible that says its ok to molest children? 'coz it sho' seems that way.
