Not running: Bloomberg, who name-checks Seattle and gets a little Urban Archipelago in his explanation. Virtual border fence: Delayed. No recession... Yet: Says Bush. Foreign policy: The likely center of the McCain-Obama debate? William F. Buckley: The obit, and the desk. (You think Charles has a messy work space? Check this one out.) Introducing Dmitri Medvedev: The next Russian president. Born outside the U.S.: John McCain. So can he be president? Burly bikers: It takes more than a machete to rob them. Contempt of Cop: Blacks in Seattle charged at a disproportionate rate. A new-ish Clinton ad from Texas, where...

Bush's comments about the economy remind me of when my sister broke my bicycle and she kept telling me it wasn't broken when the chain was dragging on the ground. "Look!, you can still ride it, in fact it is easier this way."
Face it Bush...you broke America.

"The candidates" have expressed much more nuanced positions than Bloomberg accuses them of in is overgeneralized and simplistic criticism. For example, both Clinton and Obama have said that it takes more than border security and a path to citizenship to address immigration. Such as going after employers and working on improving the situation in Mexico. I remember them both saying these things several times in the debates, and in stump speeches and in interviews.

Very nicely ironic.

Is the problem that these independents or Nader fans are too lazy to notice the details in what Democrats and Republicans say, and that's why they never stop clinging to their belief that they are all the same?

If Barack Obama or Clinton had been born abroad you can bet the GOP would ahve been screaming about hte natural born rule for the last 3 years and this would have muddied up either one of them so much they wouldn't have been chosen.

But when it's the GOP that violates these pretty clear rules, the Democrats are silent.

The GOP had a plan to have a coup and disavow the eletoral college in 2000, too, if the popular vote went to Bush and the electoral college for Gore.

Hey if Obama wins why not a constitutional convention -- totally fullfilling the change theme --

to get rid of all these 18th century anachronisms like the electoral college the natural born rule and lack of representation for DC residents.

Even this might pass: Arnold can run for pres if DC gets representation.

Personally I'd throw in representation for PR VI Samoa Marianias too. Don't get this imperial approach we all support thru inaction where you and I right here get to be First Class Citizens with More Rights Than Yucky, Other-ish, Second Class Citizens over there that we rule over.
