i know pittsburgh, i feel sorry for you.
Hear that, Mitt?
John McCain won't tow the line of the American-Taliban and Dobson hates him for it. McCain ain't half bad.
I'm actually in the middle of the University of Pittsburgh's campus. The campus is really beautiful, and this neighborhood is lovely. Everything I've seen of this town is lovely.
It's Huckabee or the highway for Christian Conservatives. Looks like they will be a non-factor in 2008. Thank Jesus!
That's the best news I've heard all day.
And just in case anyone missed this headline from Salon's War Room this morning:
McCain swipes back at Santorum
That sir, is comedy.
Sorry, here's the link:

Woo-Hoo! I agree with lostboy @6 - best news of the day so far.
Please stay home, James, and set the example for all of your fundamentalist minions.
Thanks for sticking up for the 'Burgh n'at, Dan. Being from there, I know it as well. As much as I would never ever live there again, I still love it's many charms. If you need a better bar and some good (but not authentic) Mexican food, try Mad Mex on Atwood St. There's a couple of decent places on Craig Street as well (near the Carnegie past the Cathedral when going up Forbes).
For all of his batshit crazy, off-the-wall ideas, McCain has a lot of really sensible ones. He's the only GOP candidate that I don't think I'd mind having as president. Shame his crazy side doesn't appeal to the Christian conservatives.
But maybe the Rapture will come and we won't need to worry about him or his ilk ever voting ever again??
If that happens, Dan, we'll all need to join you in a round of lousy champagne. After we rummage through all the stuff that the believers left behind, of course.
The funny thing is that McCain's been an honest-to-God conservative for his entire adult life -- as long as fuckstick Dobson has been alive -- while his darling Romney has been a conservative for about eighteen months.
I can drink to that! Tell the neocons and the ultra-right fake Xtians to sit at home and I'll party for them!
Sweet!
Don't really care about Dobson, but I'm probably going to Caucus for McCain on Sat. so too bad for the conservatives.
And Yinz should be careful how far off campus yinz go. There's some pretty sketchy neighborhoods full of jagoffs not too far away from Pitt.
Pittsburgh really is a beautiful city though. It has one of my favorite skylines. Coming through the tunnel from the airport onto the Ft. Pitt bridge is also pretty amazing on a nice day.
Agree with @10 about Mad Mex.
YAY! The unholy alliance between the conservatives and the radical right was going to break down eventually, we might finally see it happen this time. Yes, Dobson, tell your followers they will be smote to hell if they vote in '08 for the evil, evil McCain. I'd even settle for a Bible-thumping "Christian" candidate to run as an independent spoiler- it would be good for a laugh!
C'mon, James! Now's your time! Jesus is calling for you to run as an independent!
The English lady isn't from England. When you're from Pittsburgh, you have to do something.
Say hi to Auntie Vera from us.
@pittsburgh
im from there too, and hadn't been back in 10 years until this summer. its gotten better. its harder to spot the yinzers but still fun!
BWAHAHAHAHAHA, and blow me, Dobson. Now you know how we felt about Dukakis.
Apparently, acrimony is a family value.
We should see if we can get Huckabee to run as a 3rd party candidate. Wouldn't that be fun to watch, Huckabee v. McCain. It would be like taking the big tent of the Republicans, running an open bar for about eight hours and then giving everyone a handgun and cranking up the death metal. Let the carnage begin.
*cue the Beverly Hills Cop laugh* This isn't just for Dobson, it's also for Ann Coulter and all the other GOP who is not happy about any McCain success.
