Hey Eric, it's the makeshift PCO. Actually, in the 2nd round of tallying, 6 of the 9 committeds switched to a candidate: 4 to Obama and 2 to Clinton, which gave us 6 Obama delegates and 2 Clinton delegates. It was very cool to have Stranger notables in the precinct, like yourself and C.Hale. Which one was Mr. Poe?

Love, Ben
43-2547 interim Precinct Chair

Seriously, which one was Mr. Poe?

@2

I was the only person in the room wearing a dress shirt + tie. I raised my hand a couple of times, but you denied me. It was rude and you will never be forgiven.

Sarcasm aside, thanks for all the help. You really pulled things together in that room, which was admirable.

Delegate allocation is incorrect if your report of the raw vote is correct.

Should be Obama 6, Clinton 1, Uncommitted 1.

I was part of the 30th district and it was pretty great except the Hillary campaign bullying Obama supporters around (and turning them away)

In my small table (17 people)...we were trying to debate the issues so that the 2 undecideds go make up their mind. The second I brought up Mark Penn's name these random 2 Hillary supporters swung in and tried debating me. When I challenged them on where they were from they chimed in that they were in from PORTLAND !?!?! After they left I watched them and they were running around to table to table going after all of the Obama people. It was weird. When I asked the room leader to ask them to leave he denied me and said he talked to them...he talked to them and then they all had a great big laugh. Luckily, we got the 2 undecided for Obama. I don't think the Clinton tactics helped out their cause. But it just reminded me how DC insiders always say the Clintons play dirty.

Poe, sorry. So many people were trying to speak, I was giving preference to people that were asserting themselves. You talk enough on Slog, though, believe me. ;) Hmmm, which corner of the room were you in? My roommate pointed out to me that I was missing people behind me. Well, duh.

RonK, two-thirds of our uncommitteds broke for a candidate. I reported the final delegate count.

@9

You looked right at me. With my hand up. Twice. You were about to say something, but that cackling bitch wouldn't shut up. I didn't want to be rude, therefore I was "assertive" enough to interrupt her mediocre opinions.

What's with all of the double-posts? I only hit post once. Ghetttooooo!

I was surprised that not a single Kucinich supporter was anywhere in sight. Yet another thing that gives me hope for the future.

RonK, I said @2, 4 went to Obama. Remember, it's caucus math.

Poe, fine! I'll buy you a drink at Slog Happy if you be my bestest friend again...

yeah, i was pretty stoked at how it went. fun to be talking to folks who all lived within 100 yards of me.

as for the 2nd round delegate take: 4 of the undecideds went to obama, 2 went to hillary and 3 "stayed." it wasn't so much that people were convinced to change as it was people didn't know what to do with the select your candidate choice on the sign in sheet. (at least 3 of the 4 obama "changes" were just folks who messed up signing in downstairs).

as for the fact that, on the second count, it "should have been 7 obama and 1 clinton" (my preference), there is this weird rule concerning "loose" delegates and we had to demure to the (fucked up?) "that delegate goes to whatever candidate has the highest number to the right of the decimal point" rule. so the three clinton people that had stuck around were stoked and i was bummed that a 2nd round re-tally of 4 more for obama and 2 more for clinton wound up giving clinton an extra delegate.

at least parties from all sides where intent on sticking to the rules. civil, fun and rad! fuck primaries! we are all big enough kids to talk to each other and not be worried about "manipulative" discourse, aren't we? just make it a national caucus holiDAY!

...okay off to watch the future black president speak at the virginia jefferson-jackson dinner (where the crowd just gave us nw'ers a cheer -via the gov. of virginia- for our 2-1 obama preference)

Huh, had no idea I was in a room with so many Stranger personalities. But somebody's little kid was doing my hair the whole time, so it was hard to pay attention... Thanks, MoTown for organizing everything so well. Mighta been chaos without you and the women who just happened to have all the rules and the speeches with them. I can't believe we ended up going 6-2 though. Thought 7-1 was a sure thing.

as for "notables" (what a weird way to judge a crowd? was erik alone stranger in using this as a characteristic of their caucus experience?), i would think my girlfriend -the current manager of atlas - would be more of a "noticable."

this speech: obama seems as tired as he did yesterday in seattle... jumbo jet lag. after watching at least 20 obama speeches from the last two months, he almost seems to just be a drugged'up medium for his own 3 variety stump speech message... or, at least SUPER FUCKING TIRED. kind of a bummer.. nothing compared to the iowa JJ dinner speech... of course, i am voting for him because of his experience/record and his policies/proposals (yep, really! right?)

for the record (maybe i judged wrong?), these were our official numbers:

1st (function) 2nd = total

BaObama: 68 + 4 = 72
Clinton: 15 + 2 = 17
UnCmted: 09 - 6 = 03
MGravel: 01 + 0 = 01

delegate allocation:
BHO: 6
HRC: 2
UNC: 0
MGV: 0

When I saw him yesterday, Obama didn't seem tired - mind you, that was around Noon just outside Key Arena, when he gave an impromptu speech to us that was pretty fun.
