Did Mayor Nickels just admit to a fire code violation involving 18,000 people? Far worse than forgetting to card a couple of kids. Great White, anyone? Off to jail!

@1: "Off to jail!" -- could that be where Mayor Nickels ducked off to (he's not sitting behind Barack Obama at least from my vantage)? Perhaps when admitting a fire code violation -- give the police chief the day off as well? ;-)

This is historic - I've not seen a political event on this scale in Seattle in my lifetime (I'm 35 and a native).

I suppose its a good thing that key arena isn't a nightclub, then.

He'd have the DPD on them for certain.

Correction - the WTO riots had more participants. So, I've not seen an effective political event on this scale in my lifetime.

Wow, it's weird to see Key Arena packed again. Obama's wading through a sea of people right now, pressing flesh.

I liked the part where he interrupted himself midsentence to see whether a woman near the front looking faint was okay. He got EMTs to check on her.

Un.Fucking.Believable!!!!

Wow. That was the MOST inspiring thing I have ever attended! The place was raucous crazy loud!

That was simply the most energy I've ever felt in a crowd bar none. Not even rock concerts have had that kind of energy!

Barack looked and appeared like a rock star today!

I can't imagine he doesn't sweep the state tomorrow after comparing that appearance to that other candidate... what was the candidate's name again? I forget?

Guess its not that important.

From the Department of the Uncalled For:

If Mayor McCheese left the building, they could have squeezed in those other 3000 people...

Way more than 3,000 outside. There were about 5,000 on each side of Key Arena (E and W) - and the crowds grew bigger after Noon ...

People drove from Bellingham and Okanagon County to get to this.

Massive. Turnout.

And they all knew about the caucus details for the most part.

I watched it on KOMO from IL...wish I could've been there!

It looked like the Gov was wearing salmon - but we could only see her from a TV inside the building that some of us outside could see. At first I thought it was orange.

Great speech by her though - the crowd like what she said, more than what Greg Nickels said (not sure why).

I agree with Will@17. It looked to me like a lot more than 3K on the east side.

Chrissy was wearing Power Pink and she gave a barnburner of a speech in support of Obama.
