It offers a pretty wide breath of material and individual artists. Some notable graphic novel autobios that you might like:

Epileptic by David B.
Fun House by Alison Bechdel
Diary of a Teenage Girl by Phoebe Gloeckner
Palestine by Joe Sacco

And anything by Chris Ware is fantastic as are large portions of the Love and Rockets series penned by Gilbert and Jaime Hernandez. I would also highly recommend local artist Kazimir Strzepek's The Mourning Star, which is the first chunk of a comic fantasy epic.
