there doesn't seem to be much point in buying erotica, considering just how varied most people's sexual turn-ons are, and just how much free erotica there is out there in the interwebs. Granted, you can still fap/shlick without needing a computer on hand, but it doesn't seem like a good investment of 19.99 + tax

Ain't no rumor - she's got a big long thing about it on her website. Depressing tank of the american short story - erotic or not - all in all.

And s.k. above, is all sexy stuff just wank material? I love well-written erotica, but it's not porn.

@2

yes, all sexy stuff is wank material to someone. The question is how intentional it is. Well-written erotica IS porn, it's just the sex scenes are in your head instead of being acted out by porn actors. I hate people who try to ban porn but want to keep erotica because its "art" and "tasteful".

Also, @1, I think you've got the wrong idea about what BAE is. It's not "Best American Wank Material" it's more like "Best Literature on a Sexual Theme." Whether you get hard is a secondary concern, behind top-quality writing.

It'd be great if there were a similar thing for visual media, frankly.
