The only word I can read on that site is "ghettoblaster."

Obviously a long lost relation of Rube Goldberg.

Clever.

It's all so very exotic. What do you think...con...fetti...is. (Am I saying that right? Confetti?) And what do you think they do with it?

One odd thing about Rube Goldberg is that every country seems to have their own version, and be unaware of the others. I was startled to discover that Heath Robinson in Britain was doing the exact same kinds of things even earlier than Goldberg, and there are similar figures in Denmark, Spain, and many other countries.

'Winkelen' is the dutch word for 'Shopping'.

Very cool flash work (I rarely would say that).

To me Dutch looks like an over-vowelized version of German, you can usually decipher it that way.

Don't winkel online! You may find yourself with universal health care, rational drug policy, and a welfare state run amok with things like child care and paid vacation.

Awesome. That's the most delightful use of Flash I've seen in a long time.

This site is so AWESOME!!! Its my favorite thing ever. These people are marketing GENIUSES! Every part of me wants to go on this site every day until I have bought all of their crap.

I'm so glad I looked at this post after that fucking Kandiss Crone post and the stupid Microsoft one. It completely repaired my formerly ruined day.

WHEEEEEEEE!

I've never actually looked at HEMA's webpage before, even though I live in the Netherlands. I wonder if they've done this for Carnival, it kicked off today. Either way, very spiffy design.

Apparently "ghettoblaster" is Dutch for "portable radio"

I can't figure out how to buy the shit on the website. Damnit! I want stuff!

Oh well, guess I'll just sit back and watch that tennis racket set on fire over and over and over....

@1: their site has been around (and flasheriffic like that) for a while. I remember seeing a wave of links to it in December and was also charmed by the cross-cultural permanence of "ghetto blaster".

@16 Ah, good to know... of course, now it means I'll be stalking it for cool new Flash shows.

If only they could make the stores look that good in person, though. They're really pretty scruffy places in person.

Ugh, ignore the double 'in person' there, not paying attention. >.
