Last Shots in the Ron Paul Revolution

posted by on February 13 at 16:50 PM

Remember the glory days, when Ron Paul was doing the whole, “Why not see how many extravagant means of transportation I could plaster my name on in the name of democracy” thing?

ronpaulstickercar.jpg

(This car? Utterly covered in Ron Paul stickers. The owner? Probably won’t regret this even long after Paul drops out of the race.)

His quixotic run for the White House appears to be nearing its end, as it turns out that maybe Paul wants to make some time to ensure that he’s actually going to win the primary for his Texas congressional seat:

I also have another priority. I have constituents in my home district that I must serve. I cannot and will not let them down. And I have another battle I must face here as well. If I were to lose the primary for my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that happen.

In the presidential race and the congressional race, I need your support, as always. And I have plans to continue fighting for our ideas in politics and education that I will share with you when I can, for I will need you at my side. In the meantime, onward and upward! The neocons, the warmongers, the socialists, the advocates of inflation will be hearing much from you and me.

Sincerely,

Ron

It's kind of sad to imagine a political landscape without Ron Paul. I'm still not over losing Mitt Romney. How much does Ron need? Twenty? Fifty? If Ron is short $50, you tell him to call me and I'm there for him.

Nah, only when you're steering the blimp.

Here's the whacky website for Paul's whacky Republican opponent:

I love the "Pastors for Peden" link. Hail Jesus!

I would love to sit in on a debate of these yokels!

Home, home on the range, where it's not a liability to have David Dukes in your past.

In related news, here are the whacky websites of the whacky Democrats running against Dennis Kucinich.

It seems that locals dislike it when their representatives spend all their time running for president.

I welcome Ron Paul solely for the fact that he makes Lyndon LaRouche irrelevant. LaRouche always made me think of LBJ living in a crazy shack with cockroaches crawling all over him.

> Ending Illegal Foreign Wars of Aggression and Imperialism

>) Restoring the Rule of Law for all govt officials and organizations (Executive/CIA)

> Restoring Sound Money

>Right-sizing Government with lower spending AND taxes.

Come on. Who doesn't enjoy making fun of Ron Paul?

When viewed in the long-term, we had all hope Ron Paul's candidacy is not the end of the Ron Paul revolution. America desparately needs a political movement focused on restoring limited government. It's quite clear that the Democratic Party is not willing to be that movement (or did nobody notice the "It's OK for Telecoms to break the law for the Bush Administration" vote in the Senate?).

Ron Paul is a fucking douche bag. End of story.

@ 18
What policies do you disagree with or is smearing a candidates character where you stand?

You know, if they held a debate between Ron Paul and Lyndon LaRouche, I'd be ROFLMAO.

Seriously.

But, then again, I doubt many people would watch it, unless they were stoned and/or drunk.

@21: you sound really informed. people like you are the reason our country is such a mess. You are the one that the real "douche-bag" politicians base their campains on electability and sound-bytes for. congrats

They do a great job at littering. I think it's funny that 45th street was saturdated with Ron Paul fliers stuck to everything and there was exactly one Obama sign in the same area. Let's see, one sign for Obama and he draws over 20,000 to Key Arena. An infinite number of Ron Paul signs and he draws 700. The sign-to-interested-voter ratio is very disproportionate.

Who's gonna clean all of it up anyways? Or will our signposts, streetlights and bus stops be (illegally) wheatpasted for years to come?

I still think my favourite is "9-11 wouldn't have happened if all passengers had had guns!"

If that were the case, the whole country would be wiped off the map.

9 trillion national debt. $60,000 for every "working" American. I'll never earn enough for those kind of taxes and neither will my wife. So one of you genius owes $120,000 on top of the $60 grand you already owe. Ya'll trot on out and vote for your favorite republicrat and then get to work earning that taxable income.

@26: "So one of you genius owes $120,000 on top of the $60 grand you already owe."

Are you Dr. Paul's former speechwriter?

#19: Considering the fact I stand by regulation of markets, living wages, environmental protection, universal health care, public education, welfare, affirmative action, a proactive foreign policy, taxes, economic stimulus, public works, public service, gun control, civil rights legislation, gay marriage, Keynesian economics, public roads and bridges, national parks, and the fact that I DON'T believe in the gold standard, unregulated markets, home schooling, an isolationalist foreign policy, deregulation, ZOG, repoitds etc, I would say I don't believe in a fucking thing that would make me a Ron Paul supporter. And yes, he's a racist douche too. Does that clarify things?
