??!! Impressionable Minds

onOn a kid’s TV Network in Canada, alongside commercials for Bratz, Bionicles, and CHAOTIC (some kind of card game—I have no idea), they’re showing this:
It’s a funny commercial—you know, because they say ‘pee.’ But the positioning is a little odd, no? The target demographic for the show that was on couldn’t have been much more than 13.
Here it is in French:

I liked it better in French.
ah oui, tout le monde doit 'faire pee-pee'!
ca m'a vraiment fait rigoler!
This commercial isn't new. It's been playing in America for months.
But it's funny, and it's one of my favorites. :)
My guess is it plays during the kids' shows because there are moms watching with the kids? I don't know.
I find it interesting that the caption at the end of the French version translates as "want a baby?" while there is nothing like it in the English version.
Oui, @2, l'expression "faire pee-pee" est tres drole. Je pense du putois anime "Pee-Pee LePew"...
Actually, it's more "looking forward to a baby"
@5
...but what makes the caption funnier is that "envie" can be used to indicate that you need to go to the bathroom, as in "J'ai envie de faire pipi." I imagine the play on words is intentional considering the rest of the ad.
Looks pretty Hollywood-high tech. Easy - non threatening. Maybe more teenage girls will buy it, without Mom around, and figure things out before it's too late.
Frankly, I'd rather have 13 year-olds buying these than going on the internet and posting endless question threads in various forums to the effect of "It only went in just a little bit, could I be pregnant?"
That shit is tedious, yo.
King 5 news just reported a stabbing on Capital Hill in front of Neighbors. It happened around 2 am Monday morning
Capital with an A, right?
Hi NEOCON blogger. Why aren't you pumping your CON-TARD candidates here while you have the chance? I'm surprised we weren't spoonfed another pro-war, pro-One World Government neocon candidate in your blog today. What's up with that? Did the CFR forget to pay you?
I am in total agreement with #8.
I wonder if that "Zoey 101" was the next scheduled program? perhaps a public service announcement from Jamie Lynn Spears? You know, saying "Kids, just in case you f*ck up, use this next."
This probably goes without saying, but where there are children, there are generally mothers... you know, dusting dutifully, praying like hell that father's little accident last night won't take...
You all have a surprisingly rosy view of the way most children are raised--all these mothers carefully monitoring what their kids are watching on TV. Dare to dream.
A. Hecht is sadly correct. Sometimes Inga and I let our kids watch Nik, Disney, or Cartoon Network downstairs while we are making dinner or working on finances upstairs. Jamie Lynn Spears could be teaching my kids how to shaft heroin for all we know.
But we draw the line at ABC Family. That channel is the Devil's own simulcast.
Huh. I've seen this one a lot on Spike (shut up, I like the Star Trek re-runs), and just figured it was actually being marketed to 20-something guys who're worried about knocking up their girlfriends.
