Well, it’s new to us, anyhow.

I hear the national sport is hurtling babies over barbed-wire fences!

Well, maybe if you go there, they'll throw you over a fence. Oh, excuse me, that was BABIES, not BABES.

In Kosovo, that's called "vacation".

Watching the re-Balkanization of the Balkans is an amazing thing.

When are they bringing back the Archduke Ferdinand?

Such hypocrisy from the Western powers on this whole mess. It's just unfortunate that there really is no good solution to the problem of Kosovo. No matter what happens people will be hurt.

It's really unfortunate for the Kosovar Albanians (who did the declaring and all) because they're sending their own economic self-interest up the river. As a part of Serbia they were receiving massive aid in the form of federal social programs due to their incredibly high unemployment rate. In addition they now have considerably less bargaining leverage with the large capitalist countries. Bad bad bad move Kosovo.

Is it just me, or are those kid's legs the only things holding up two freaking strands of barbed wire?

Abby, the only thing that surprised me was that they waited a full day before they started rioting.

For some reason the peninsula in the Wikipedia map looks somewhat less like a schlong.
