When presented with this fact from 2000, Gov. Huckabee simply said, "Y'all got me there," and then rested his chin on his left hand as muted trumpets played a descending chromatic scale.

But wait -- wasn't the point of the Florida recount that the Democrats only wanted CERTAIN districts recounted? I seem to recall that one Republican argument was, "Gore is being selective; he doesn't want all the votes checked, only the ones likely to go to him."

So I guess the only sure thing is that all politicians are sneaks, regardless of party.

IIRC, Florida law didn't allow Gore to ask for a statewide recount.
