Jim Davis, funny? I wouldn't take it that far.

I think that Garfield is much like b.c., in that it USED to be funny. However, they each became unfunny for different reasons. BC found the Jesus and Garfield found... found the unfunny.

I wonder how many other unfunny comic strips would become insightful if you were to remove characters. Would Blondie be funny if Dagwood were to be removed?

Jim Davis is funny in the same way that compost is vegetables.

Garfield used to be funny years ago when I was like 10 years old but that was when I was like 10 years old and Garfield had only been out for a couple of years.

I still have a stuffed Garfield AND the one you stick in your car window.... I shouldn't admit to that last item.

I think what this means is that changing ANYTHING in a Garfield comic is guaranteed to make it funnier.

That Garfield without Garfield comic is equal parts hysterical and disturbing. Of course it makes sense, seeing as how Garfield has been dead for quite some time. Oh, you didn't know?

The more of Jim Davis' work you remove, the funnier it gets...

I remember distinctly that Garfield was funny when I was 9 years old.
