Two "Obamas."
We Can is certainly a lot catchier than She's Been Vetted. I wish the commercial were a little longer though. 15 seconds or whatever it is really isn't enough time to run out for another beer in time for the funny commercials.
I wish Barack would talk about fear more, and actually tie it in to our foreign policy. In one of the debates he said we need to change themidset that got us into the war, and I was hoping he'd spell that out more. I mean in general not in 15 sec. ad of course.
Catchy ad.
Fired Up!
Ready to go!
I like that ad, it's been running in Albuquerque for at least a couple days and it's 1000x better than the two Hillary ads that are currently running here. I've been canvassing for Obama all weekend (150+ doors in 2 days) and now I'm just waiting somewhat patiently for Tuesday night...should be fun.
@3, we are a 2-3 word soundbite culture. Obama has more than the intellectual range and substance to spell out policy. But you've got to simplify things without detailed explanations for most Americans to get them to pay attention. If he has to spell things out he will when the time comes. Very effective ad otherwise.
As much as I hate Fox News, I think this slog post is a little misleading. Fox isn't selling Super Bowl ad space to ANY candidate, apparently because they can't free up enough time to give each candidate an equal shot. It's not as if they're deliberately blocking this ad because they think it's too persuasive, as Eli suggests.
im not voting for obama, but i think its a good ad. that said, it just seems weird to have political commercials during the superbowl. mostly because its like the most dumbed down thing ever on tv. but it will probably work for him since he has that whole "have a beer with" thing going on like W.
yah, the stranger needs to livebowl the superbowl commercials.
Good ad. It's basically saying "I'm popular! Do what everyone else is doing, hang with me!" He looks like a rock star.
yawn
@7
I thought Obama's point was to change the sound bite culture.
Ok, I now understand it's not. Alas.
So then . . . what is the change ?
