Yep, teared up. I think the fact that Ellen never really talks about things like this makes it that much more powerful.

i agree, aislinn. this really isn't something she goes into too often, but her words were very powerful. i was really surprised that she brought up voting as well. she's usually not political on her show.

Her speech was moving, I teared up and all- she totally doesnt ever talk about these issues- but unfortunately, 99% of the people watching her show are already voting for someone democrat. I always wished that people like Jay Leno or David Letterman or someone that has *some* leverage to the other side will come out and say what she said.

my sister loves ellen, and mccain. i'm sure there are plenty of others like her that aren't dedicated democrats.

It feels to me as though the crowd was more interested in supporting Ellen than honoring the dead.
It seems just a bit disrespectful to yell "WOO" and scream your joy during a speech like that.

Loving Ellen and McCain is an oxymoron. Those people can be my 1%.
