this happened to another player Clint Malarchuk. gruesome.
Commenter 1: "I've never seen that much blood that quickly"
Commenter 2: "oh, I'm afraid I have..."
Just the phrase "skate to the carotid artery" is enough to keep me from clicking on that.
Is the guy okay?
Apparently Zednik has had surgery already and is OK.
@1, 2: Malarchuk played for Buffalo when that incident happened. The voices on this video are the Buffalo play by play guys. I assume the "oh, i'm afraid i have" comment was a reference to the Malarchuk incident.
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.
remarkably, one of those things, for all the rough and tumble, that is a rare occurence in hockey (and certainly not one that players every worry about).
It's "Sabres."
I remember for a short while a long time back (90s, I'd say) there were several goalies who wore plastic neck protectors, but in fear of a slapshot to the throat, not a skate blade. They're not nearly as prevalent now.
This is almost as sad as a camaro crashing into a packed Wal-mart.
Was his mullet damaged?
I think I saw this maneuver in a film recently...it was called the iron lotus.
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Hockey rules.
