Four stabbed after bars close on Capitol Hill

06:28 AM PST on Monday, February 18, 2008

Associated Press and KING Staff Reports

SEATTLE - Police in Seattle are trying to find a man who stabbed and cut four people on Capitol Hill.

Officer Mark A. Jamieson says the attack apparently occurred during an altercation in an alley behind Neighbors, a bar on Capitol Hill.

KING

Four people were stabbed overnight Sunday in an alley behind Neighbors, a bar on Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood.

He says one person was stabbed in the back at 1:39 a.m. Monday and the others were less severely cut. All have been taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, and Jamieson says one of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

He adds that everyone involved apparently knew each other, and the stabbing does not appear to be random. No arrests have been made.

King 5 is covering it every half hour and it is on the kiron (sp) on the screen on channel 5. They are not saying much on possible motive.

KOMO: "The attacker was last seen driving away from the scene in a white Dodge Neon."

It's a pretty good bet the attacker isn't gay. What self-respecting homo would be caught driving a Dodge Neon?!?!?!?!

DEVELOPING...

I always knew that Dodge Neon drivers were stabbers.

Calm down Andrew, there is a life between dodge neons and canasta.

Yeah, right, infrequent. You live in one of the safest places on the face of the earth. If you let a little media sensationalism keep you inside, you're pathetic.

Were you trying to spin this as a hate-on-the-gays crime? Wonder if this is a gay-on-gay crime? Or a tweaker-on-tweaker crime? Drunk shmux on drunk shmux crime? Frat-boys-on-a-dare crime?

Remember kids--if you're mean to people and don't say your prayers at night, Chris Crocker will find you in a dark alley and stab you in a murderous rampage?

oh, and as for me? i go out all the time. and neighbors? i've been there enough for everyone on this list...

i am a little concerned about violence on the hill. a few months back i broke up a fight between to guys (and i'm a skinny). one -- who looked like the sort of guy who really wanted to be in a frat but wasn't accepted -- was shouting inappropriate things to another average looking hill guy. after i tried to disperse them, the brother of the hill-looking-guy showed up and started getting in my face. apparently he thought i was with the stupid guy, and wanted to fight me because of it.

suddenly i remembered what i hated about bell town. and the suburbs. and getting involved in other people's business.

@17 why be concerned at all? According to Fnarf "Yeah, right, infrequent. You live in one of the safest places on the face of the earth."

You are stressing too much, nothing to worry about until someone gets killed, well not just one or two. We will get back to you when you should have any concern!!

Jesus fucking christ when will Capitol Hill obtain adequate law enforcement? Can the city not understand or respond to the climate of violence there?

@18. i think fnarf's response to the fake me was spot on. it was a harsh reply to a silly comment -- and i'd hate to think that in a future post he might remember this, thinking i actually wrote that.

i don't use a capital i, though.

My vote is for tweeker-on-tweeker violence.

I am also somewhat weirded out by the fact that Neighbors seems to be becoming more of a straight bar than gay- which would be fine, except that I hear gay slurs being tossed around every time I go there.

Uh... it IS still a gay club right?

Posted by CITIZENDANGERX | February 18, 2008 2:32 PM

i don't think anyone would mistake it for a straight club, though there are quite a few straight-identified people there. i've never heard a gay slur there. once outside, but i'm pretty sure is was a joke (amongst gay friends type of thing).

The hyper-violent criminals on Capitol Hill are not showing the creativity the hood deserves.

How about some machetes, or maybe chainsaws, or at least even just ridicule?
