Nice shot of the old Mercer Island bridge before they ruined it, too.
Of course you mean the Lake Washington Floating Bridge, Fnarf (now the Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Bridge). Or, as my crowd used to call it, the "Old Bridge," to distinguish it from the "New Bridge" (now the Governor Albert D. Rosellini Bridge–Evergreen Point). It seems to me that most people simply say "520" and "I-90" now, which is a bit of a shame. the old bridge had that bulge in the middle that required two pretty sharp turns to get around, and led to lots of watery deaths.
Ava Gardner?
looks like my very beautiful mother: who was often compared to Ingrid Bergman: sure tugged at a schoolboy heart, your mom is so pretty, even from teachers
my family were an early part of the urbanite flood to then rural Bellevue: early on simply the Floating Bridge
15 cent tolls, I think, no traffic, pre I-90 construction
Dad could hit downtown on Madison in 9-10 minutes with no stops, 70 mph and little rush hour, we had a series of Nashs. The bath tub Ambassador was posh DELUXE and the seats made a full bed
tolls paid for bridge in about 12 years, way early
