maybe she did provoke him. it's not like that would make it okay. but i get your point -- that is classic victim blaming ("she wanted it") or perverted rationalization.

She might be thrilled to find a guy willing to go down on her. My straight female friends tell me, that a lot of guys won't go "there", much to their chagrin.

" And investigators say the teen eventually told them that Davis came to her house to perform oral sex on her."

HELLO! The youth pastor went to her house to perform oral sex on her! So this 14 year old is basically surrounded by brain dead adults. Where were her parents and how did this wolf of a youth pastor get to be alone to have oral sex with the girl? Is CPS like all over this?
I bet there is more to this to this story.

Okay, maybe I'm living in the past, but I don't think 14 is too young to be left alone at home. You're going to have trouble finding a baby sitter or daycare for any kid over 12. I'm not saying the parents aren't to blame for something, but this isn't it.

A fourteen year old is pretty much standard baby-sitter age, anyhow. It's high-school freshman range.

It would be the worst stigma/insult possible to have a babysitter for someone that age.

You are absolutely right a 14 year old is old enough to be left home alone but this one obviously was not NEAR mature enough to be left alone and it seems like the parents should have known that. There are rules on being left alone like don't let men come in and have oral sex with you dear!

Something is wrong all the way around when your fourteen year old is allowing older guys in the house when she is alone. In my opinion there is a disconnect with the parents and daughter.
If this had been a boy her age it would be different to me but it wasn't it was her youth pastor and it happened in her home. Something is off in my opinion but maybe I'm hard on parents : )

Well, as a parent, you have to be clear as to why you'd lock her up.

It's not that you're not old enough to be home alone, honey--it's because you're a slut.

$400.00 a week for 20-30 youths, WOW and thats here in the U.S. Imagine what they could get in the fleshpots of Bankok?

you should read some of the comments posted after that article from members of that church. one church member goes as far as to blame the girl for seducing him aka "Jezebel" Gotta love southerners.

The comment unedited:
" So you think thats so bad please speak on the incident where the same teen was accused of having a relationship with her mother boyfriend. please be careful of being provoked by young girls as her, his kindness was taken for weakness. remember thing are exposed only when caught is what happen to her."

@11 - Hey he's from the Augusta, Georgia(saying that with a thick southern drawl). I'm not surprised.

One church member uses 'y'all'. "now y'all don't go get yallselves seduced by that Jezebel now. y'all hear? praise the lawd"

Apparently the AP style hasn't gotten to Georgia yet. "They say Davis confessed to the crimes." Who says? Them?

Who says I would lock HER up? If I was the parent I would be kicking MYSELF not her!

The guy was 36 and if I found out my daughter was allowing a 36 year old man in my house it would be like finding out she was inviting a murderous perv in the house. It's just frightening.

Fourteen is obviously not an automatic maturity button and we parents need to know enough about our kids to know when to leave them alone.
Whatever, enough said.

Well, that's the glorious thing about calling yourself a "Youth Pastor" isn't it?

It gets you in places where any other 36-year-old would be met with instant suspicion and distrust.

Even if the 14 year old were an accomplished seductress, the yp -- as an adult, as a person with authority over the girl, and as a man of god -- should have known enough to refrain from ministering to the needs of her nether region. Young girls often try out their new equipment to see how much power they have over men -- the adult has to put the brakes on.
