Dead politicians are martyrs. I don't want Bush's murder to trigger a new Cheney-led War on Everyone, and I don't want Obama's murder to supplant JFK's ghost as the ideal no breathing politician can ever achieve.

Also, if everyone's worrying about something it's more likely to happen, but that's a different issue.

That being said, I agree with @10. Who wants W to be remembered as anything other than the worst president ever? Not me, that's for sure.

I did manage to catch Obama's response. In fact, after I avoided the GWB speech, I noticed everyone but Faux was talking about Obama and the Dems, but nobody really bothered talking about GWB's latest batch of lies.

Yes - the quibblers will say it was broken by Reagan - elected in 1980 (divisible by 20), shot in 1981, survived. Had he not been within three miles of GWU Hospital he almost certainly would have exsanguinated (sorry Josh!). So in fact he is/was a victim of the 20-year-jinx. Thanks, Jodie.

This is progress. For seven years my blood boiled when I watched Bush speak. Now, not so much. I'm sorry some people took this post the wrong way. They need to look inside their own hearts.

I'm with Dan in hoping that Bush can finish this out wothout incident and turn over power democratically. I really wonder that cheney and turd bottom amassed all this power in the executive just to turn it over to Hilary or Obama.

I'm not objecting to the specifics in this post, as much as your voicing your concerns here and in the previous posting about Obama being shot.

I think the more that talk is discussed, the more inevitable it seems. And, like it or not, you have a loud megaphone. I don't want some crazy to hear all this talk of assassination and think "hey, I should do that."

I recognize the fear, but do we really need to verbalize it?
