"AMF Bowling Centers" on 22nd Ave S is actually called Imperial Lanes, which might make it easier to find. And you missed Skyway Bowl, which is at 11819 Renton Ave S, Seattle 98178; Lynnwood Bowl, on 99 in Lynnwood; and Sun Villa Lanes in Bellevue (Eastgate).
@1 -- And YOU missed the Smoke-a Bowl at 1535 11th Ave (Third Floor), Seattle, WA 98122.
I'm bowling at The Garage tonight!
Sunset isn't closing until April. No need to keep them off your list.
Missing Leilani Lanes...
Yuck. All but the Garage [joke of a bowling alley] have that ugly SW indicator in the street address. What the hell is happening in North Seattle? Just condos and grocery stores?
Magic Lanes is great for birthday parties.
@3: Assuming you comment wasn't sarcastic - you know Leilani's been closed for a long time, right?
Or are you just saying that you are missing Leilani?
The internet is confusing.
OK, yes you can bowl at Garage. But it is not a bowling alley. That's like calling Jillian's a pool hall.
What's wrong with the Garage? Besides not being ironic.
No, the Garage IS ironic. That's what sucks about it. Real bowling alleys are real, not ironic. Though the new wave in modern non-hipster bowling alleys is "retro" styling, which is a million times worse than either.
God. Some people live for the chance to be unhappy.
It's like you have to do postdoc work in the history of aesthetic movements or some shit to properly appreciate bowling. How Proust Can Change Your Bowling.
All I'm saying is the place has lanes, bowling balls, pins and above all booze. With that, it becomes possible to bowl.
I'm much more annoyed by the endless wait for a lane at the Garage than I am by the hipsterism.
What, is Kenmore too far for you? Kenmore Lanes. It's right there next to the Safeway. On Saturday nights it's infested with damn teenagers, but otherwise it's a great bowling alley.
There's also Kent Lanes. That can be fun.
And by the way, Imperial Lanes (aka "AMF Bowling Centers") does NOT have "that ugly SW indicator in the street address"
It has that lovely "S" indicator in the street address. Proving once again that SE Seattle doesn't need any of you. We're totally self-sufficient.
Just like Neely O'Hara
This reminds me of that MeatHead comic in the Weekly (replace Crocadile with Sunset Bowl)
AW MAN THE SUNSET BOWL IS CLOSINNNNNNG!
-So you went there a lot?
NO BUT I THOUGHT THAT I MIGHT SOMEDAY!!!!
Back in the mid-90's used to be at Sunset Bowl every Monday night. She will be missed.
Not a single bowling alley in San Francisco. (The lane from 1890 or whenever in the Presidio barely counted, and it's either gone now, or will be soon, to make way for a museum.)
Hear hear for Kenmore Lanes!
You know what could use a bowling alley? The Tulalip Casino. It can't call itself the "number one place for fun" without one.
RealNetworks has a two-lane bowling alley in their basement. Seriously. Of course, you have to know an employee to get in there...
Also, the UW has a decent bowling alley in the HUB. You have to know a student to get in, but that's not so bad...
