2008 Tonight’s Democratic Debate

The stakes couldn’t be higher. If Obama wins the debate, and goes on to win the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, the nomination is most likely his. Is there anything Clinton can do to push back against the Obama phenomenon? Can Edwards do anything to break through? The Democratic debate starts at 5:30 p.m. PST on ABC (there’s a Republican debate, too, and it starts at 4 p.m PST).
I’ll definitely do some live-blogging of the Democrats, and probably of the Republicans as well, from my hotel bar here in Des Moines. See you then.

He announced on KUOW (at least -- not sure about in print) that he was staying in Iowa due to Stranger deadline constraints.
And because it's more interesting to see what remains AFTER the fact vs being on the same rote itinerary that the MSM is so slavishly following this week. I suspect there's a great story arc in before-during-after, but I'm not a journalist...
Is there any way to watch or listen to this live in seattle? Although it's live at 7 eastern time, they aren't playing it here until 7 pacific time. (Hannah Montana gets the 4pm spot here.) Maybe it can be watched online, but the abcnews.com site isn't helpful.
I can't believe we live in a country where what takes place in two states is all that matters and that the remaining 48 states don't seem to really have any say in who the nominees are.

yeah, even the republicans. Because..well, Iowa is the least populated state in the nation, PLUS it doesn't exactly have an influential demographic to campaign to, PLUS no one did much campaigning there, at least visibly.
I'm sure there are plenty of other reasons to ignore Wyoming. If Smokey the Bear were running, things may be a little different.
Shame on you, Stranger, Eli!!! Declaring things pretty much done if Obama wins NH is disgusting and exactly why so many people HATE the media in the USA. Last time I checked, a candidate wins a nomination by racking up the most delegate votes, not by winning influential but miniscule Iowa and NH.
Have you wannabe analysts all learned nothing since sabotaging Howard Dean in '04? I guess Washington State should just stop holding primaries altogether?
What hack reporters from the Stranger to NBC news do to influence elections before 99% of the country's had a chance to way in should be illegal.
