i wasn't sure that the film would match the hype, but it was, by far, one of the most interesting and spellbinding films i've seen. the score matches the pace of the storyline really well.

I totally agree about the score. It was really well matched. The words that come to mind: sparse & sinister. Daniel Day Lewis was outstanding.

have been looking forward to seeing this since May. can't wait to see DDL's performance. remember Gangs of New York? fucking mess of a movie, but i've seen it 5 times solely to watch his performance there. brilliant actor.

Couldn't stand the ending, but I'll echo the praise for Jonny Greenwood's score. Like Bernard Herrmann on morphine...or mushrooms...or something.

during that speech, when he mocked paul dano about draining the oil using the milkshake metaphor...i had to stop, pause, think "he is fucking brilliant" and then focus on the scene again.

I saw the movie for a second time yesterday and wept at its brillance.

And the Oscar for Best Actor goes to... Daniel Day Lewis!

And the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor goes to... Paul Dano!

Just a brilliant film.
