What a scandal of epic proportions! I certainly hope we're kept up to date on every new development here!

Posted by Burgin99 | January 24, 2008 4:54 PM

its nice to be talked about, isn't it?

Posted by patrick | January 24, 2008 4:55 PM

How unimaginative do you have to be to overlook a) making up questions or at least b) taking the premise of the Savage Love questions and rewriting them?

Posted by w7ngman | January 24, 2008 4:56 PM

Yep, you definitely have the best perv readers in the country. So instead of bitching about the eight million emails a day you get, you should be grateful for those people - they're the reason why you're making the big bucks.

Posted by Fifty-Two-Eighty | January 24, 2008 4:57 PM

well maybe i'll just write you an email, then get it answered by both you and that bitch!

Posted by konstantConsumer | January 24, 2008 4:59 PM

See? I don't hang around The Big Blog just so I can send that dreamy Monica Guzman mash notes. I'd have had to wait all day before this news showed up on the Slog.

"Lonow was "unaware that using questions from Savage's column was a breach of journalism ethics," reads the statement from editor David Blum."

WHAT?! Seriously? She was "unaware"? I mean that just seems like common sense to me.

More dicks. More dicks. Dan needs more dicks.

Posted by SlogWorthy | January 24, 2008 5:23 PM

@ this (already dead) issue, har har.

@ the graphic: I'm sure I'm not the only person who'd pay good money to see a cartoon of YOU naked on a giant honeymoon ottoman rolling in your own filthy letters. Maybe it could be a Strangercrombie 2008 entry??

Posted by Natalie | January 24, 2008 5:24 PM

What I think is funny is that something similar to this happened last year and nobody seemed to have noticed. (Probably because nobody reads that paper) At least this lady had the decency to resign.

Is NOTHING sacred!?

psst. i just plagarized that from a Jezebel commenter. he, he, he, he, heeeeeeeeeeeee!

Posted by Y.F. | January 24, 2008 5:38 PM

holy sh**! she's nekkid and has questions about urine and incest stuck between her toes.

Posted by bbilly | January 24, 2008 5:43 PM

@11 - The Uptight column in the Weakly? That was also my first thought when I read this post.

The fact that Stranger staffers didn't post about it on Slog probably meant that nobody noticed or cared (it works, ECB).

By the way, the Weakly has better cartoons than the Stranger. Just sayin'.

Posted by Mahtli69 | January 24, 2008 6:01 PM

What the hell? Is she blowing her nose on a letter while simultaneously drafting a reply?

Posted by mattymatt | January 24, 2008 6:03 PM

I thought you worked for the stranger and sold your column to the VV.

Now you are credited for working for the VV? Upping the credibility balance a little huh?

Posted by ecce homo | January 24, 2008 6:05 PM

The Village Voice has less credibility than The Stranger.

Posted by Fnarf | January 24, 2008 6:18 PM

"the work of Village Voice Media sex columnist Dan Savage"

Yeah, that stings. It's a sydicated column people.

Posted by Nay | January 24, 2008 7:13 PM

"At the moment I have no comment"

Aww, come on, we are all waiting. (from the link you posted to Jesebel)

anyone know what Dan Savage has to say about this yet? mostly i'm curious b/c i know it will be something pithy scathing & good.
If Claudia was going to steal stuff she should have taken the answers too, 'cause hers was just lame.

Posted by Epimetheus | January 24, 2008 7:58 PM

The New York Press still exists?

Posted by Eric F | January 24, 2008 8:12 PM

Holy Shit!

Posted by Michigan Matt | January 24, 2008 8:38 PM

Their site's collapsed or been taken down...

Posted by banjoboy | January 24, 2008 9:49 PM

I just saw this on king 5 news. silly, n00bz

Posted by fs | January 24, 2008 10:21 PM

What all you wankas are missing here, is that Dan plagiarized this stuff to begin with! (just kidding...)

Posted by Karlheinz Arschbomber | January 25, 2008 12:19 AM

go dan

Posted by KRISZTINA | January 25, 2008 7:41 AM

Wow a plaigarism scandal caused by stupidity rather than bad ethics. That's refreshing!...?

Posted by chi type | January 25, 2008 8:05 AM

Dan, are you going to parlay your newly acquired high profile in NY into a walk-on role in the "Sex and the City" movie?

That would be fabulous!

Posted by Ernie at The Elite | January 25, 2008 8:21 AM

The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

(Shamelessly plagiarized from Oscar Wilde...)

Posted by NapoleonXIV | January 25, 2008 8:27 AM

This is most attention NYPress has had in years. Also, it's more than the Village Voice deserves.

Dan, of course, is aces. If you're gonna steal, steal from the best...

Posted by Boomer in NYC | January 25, 2008 8:35 AM

Well, Dan and Dave Barry....

Ooooooh, Dan in SITC!!! That'd be awesome! :)

Posted by Nay | January 25, 2008 11:08 AM

"Lip Service" -- ugh. Thank god that died a quick death.

Posted by Irena | January 25, 2008 11:27 AM

I haven't seen anything on slog about Dan's comments beyond this posting, but the PI's big blog said Dan would've given the ex-columnist the letters. But that raises the question: once Dan receives a letter, is it his to do with what he wants, i.e., share them with whomever he wants - boyfriend, fan club, Lindy West - or should it be fairly implicit that when these people send their letters to Dan, they want Dan, and not some dumbass from LA or the guy that paid the Stranger to write the column this week from Strangercrombie?

Posted by magdaddy | January 25, 2008 12:13 PM

Who's Claudia Lonow?
