TPM is reporting that former Nixon dirty trickster Roger Stone has launched a new group opposed to Hillary Clinton: “Citizens United Not Timid: A 527 Organization to Educate the American Public About What Hillary Clinton Really Is.” Meanwhile, an all-male news panel on MSNBC cackled when commentator Mike Barnicle said Clinton looked like “everyone’s first wife standing outside a probate court” when she reacted to Obama in Monday’s debate.

I am just going to leave that dog alone. It is just too damn easy to make a commentary on this one.

I'm a Barack Obama supporter and an ECB critic, but I'll be the first to say that both of the things Erica has pointed out are just plain sick and wrong. This type of sexism has no place in our politics.

Makes me want to give $$ to Hillary now...

"He figures the whole thing will end up taking on a viral nature...."

It's probably a bad idea that you're even telling people about this. At least he's not making any specific claims - it's the complex lies that are much more dangerous.

Head = Asploded

Posted by ugh. | January 23, 2008 2:24 PM

Tell me you're joking about “Citizens United Not Timid!"

Posted by arduous | January 23, 2008 2:26 PM

And we get our daily ECB report on Hillary....

I gotta wonder ECB are you working for the Stranger or Hillary's Washington Campaign Office?

Is it your goal to be biased towards anyone opposing her? Do you ever plan on a political post that doesn't support or defend her in some fashion? Have you heard of any other candidates running?

At least the other Stranger contributors try for a little variety....Geessshhhh

Something to chew on...

Posted by Reality Check | January 23, 2008 2:27 PM

This is the kind of bullshit the Clinton campaign needs to jump all over. Further, Roger Stone is a worthless scrotum who needs a good kicking.

Posted by Greg | January 23, 2008 2:29 PM

@8: Go ahead. Tell us you don't think it's a big deal that some jackass started a PAC for the purpose of calling Hillary a cunt.

Posted by Greg | January 23, 2008 2:31 PM

classy stuff! if this doesn't get the ladies out to the polls, i don't know what will.

Posted by brandon | January 23, 2008 2:39 PM

I'm donating right now. This rampant sexism makes me sick!

Posted by WA for Hillary | January 23, 2008 2:39 PM

Pathetic. The misogynists didn't learn from New Hampshire, obviously.

Posted by annie | January 23, 2008 2:40 PM

@10: Yeah he's the one who was going on and on the other day about how all women are money grubbing whores and any man in a relationship with a woman with a higher income must be de-balled. So yeah, he prob will go on and tell you about it.

Posted by chi type | January 23, 2008 2:42 PM

Just sent a contribution to HRC for $100 'In honor of Roger Stone'.

Posted by Mrs. Y | January 23, 2008 2:47 PM

Y'all don't get it. HRC is hoping for this.

Posted by tsm | January 23, 2008 2:58 PM

16: I was just about to say that. Looks like it's working.

Besides, are y'all really that surprised that some people don't like Hillary? Or that politicians and their fundraisers love to aim low? This isn't news -- it's just another election year.

Posted by Jason Josephes | January 23, 2008 3:05 PM

What worries me about all of this is that if Hillary wins--and she might damn well win--we will have to deal with this kind of misogynist crap all the time. It's not going to end when she wins. It will only intensify as the Republicans froth to get her out of office. Everything she does will be analyzed. There will be so much subtle and not-so-subtle sexism. It will be agonizing. And exhausting.

Posted by caroline | January 23, 2008 3:14 PM

I love how people like tsm@16 assume every single thing that happens on earth is because Hillary willed it to. Ah, the perils of competency.

Posted by Big Sven | January 23, 2008 3:20 PM

Some women like the word "Cunt", although it is apparent you don't ECB. Oh Well...

As a size queen, you should at least recognoze the need for openness when it comes to the "Cunt issue".

Just sayin'

Posted by Big Sven | January 23, 2008 3:21 PM

@19 - Uh, no. I didn't say Hillary "willed" it. I'm saying she's counting on the response embodied well by @15. It's worked for her before.

Posted by tsm | January 23, 2008 3:25 PM

Ah yes, TSM is the guy who thinks women shouldn't react to sexism.

This kind of stuff reminds us of why it's important a women be in the white house. I am still undecided, but you better believe this sort of stuff makes me want to support Hillary.

Posted by exelizabeth | January 23, 2008 3:36 PM

this crap is disgusting. its crudity is not much different from the lies people tell about obama. and it will drive more people to support clinton -- and rightly so. it drives me to think roger stone and his group are despicable.

Posted by infrequent | January 23, 2008 3:38 PM

She's hoping people call her a cunt? And that they picture her in sexist stereotypes? She's hoping for that?

She's the first viable female Presidential candidate. Obama is the first viable black Presidential candidate (sorry, Shirley Chisholm.) Both of them will get mileage and support from folks of good character when dingleberries attack them for the color of their skin or what's between their legs. But if you think Clinton *wants* to be called a cunt any more than Obama *wants* to be called a nigger, than you ascribe a level of deviousness and resolve to HRC that's just not present in real human beings.

Posted by Big Sven | January 23, 2008 3:41 PM

@23 -- well put, i wouldn't have posted if yours was visible when i wrote mine.

i really thought there weren't so many sexist idiots left trolling about. how wrong i was. we are long overdue a female president if for no other reason than to bring this injustice closer to an end.

Posted by infrequent | January 23, 2008 3:41 PM

thank you erica. i depend on you for this. imagine the hell that would be breaking loose if some republican sniper asshole founded an anti-obama PAW called "National Inner-city Group for Greater Ethic Responsibility" or something like that.

Posted by Andreas | January 23, 2008 3:44 PM

Good Lord. I'm not endorsing the fucking 527. I'm not saying it's not sexist. I'm saying that Hillary knows full well that this kind of thing is well poised to backfire and help her. She's not an idiot. Overly aggressive attacks helped her in her 2000 campaign, and it could well help her here too.

But please, do go on ranting about the points you clearly wanted to see me make instead.

Posted by tsm | January 23, 2008 3:45 PM

Welcome back, ecce - glad to see your PD got you out of lock-up early.

Oh, and while we're at it: name three women who LIKE the word "cunt".

Besides your mama, that is.

Posted by COMTE | January 23, 2008 3:47 PM

So, what does this have to with the issues?

Posted by Will in Seattle | January 23, 2008 4:29 PM

Well at least their not sending out their operatives to continually drag Barack Hussein Obama’s drug pushing days in the hood back into the spotlight over and over and over again. Oh… and did you hear?... he’s nothing but a dirty Muslim…

Posted by You_Gotta_Be_Kidding_Me | January 23, 2008 4:47 PM

Will is Seattle-

Oh, *now* you Obama guys care about the issues.

Posted by Bigs Sven | January 23, 2008 4:48 PM

@28 -- yeah, i'm guessing erica probably wouldn't have posted this if she thought it would hurt clinton's campaign.

@30 -- well, sexism is an issue.

Posted by infrequent | January 23, 2008 4:50 PM

roger is an idiot for being sexist. he is also an idiot for not realizing that this behavior will probably motivate more people to vote for clinton than influence people to not vote for her. but he really demonstrates his idiocy by identifying himself as a c*nt.

seriously, if it wasn't so inappropriate, i'd almost want someone to ask him, "so, you're a C*NT then?"

Posted by infrequent | January 23, 2008 4:51 PM

1. Shannon Kringen
2. Jenna Jameson
3. Dita Von Teese

Plus a couple of lesbian friends of mine.

Posted by ecce homo | January 23, 2008 5:53 PM

I said, WOMEN ecce, not skanky publicity-whores (you DO however get one credit for Ms. Von Teese).

And I'm taking Annie Sprinkle out of the running, just because you didn't think of HER first!

Posted by COMTE | January 23, 2008 6:43 PM

Could you be MORE sexist COMTE?

They aren't "Women" because they like the word cunt? I didn't realize you were the gender police.

I think that ECB secretly likes the word, but doesn't like to admit it because it would indicate a sexuality that she has long since burried.

Posted by ecce homo | January 23, 2008 7:00 PM

"because it would indicate a sexuality that she has long since burried."

burried?? maybe you mean burrito-ed or taco-ed. it seems you care about ecb's sexuality a bit too much. what with this and all:

"As a size queen, you should at least recognoze the need for openness when it comes to the "Cunt issue"."

ecce you are kind of obsessed with her sexuality, a little too much for the gay trooper of morality you profess to be.
it's gross and stupid at any rate

Posted by pissy mcslogbot | January 23, 2008 7:31 PM

Thanks Pissy,

I could care less about her sexuality, but her smug moralistic bullshit annoys the hell out of me. Her suppressed sexuality is nothing more than a street sign that one can observe that directs you to the core problem. The problem is that she is consumed with her own moral superiority.

She needs some strait male attention, something I can never give.

Now can't we get back to discussing why bicyclists are retards playing with childish toys who pitch temper tantrums when they don't get their way? Something ECB is quite adept at demonstrating.

Posted by ecce homo | January 23, 2008 7:36 PM

The problem is that she is consumed with her own moral superiority."

are you sure that it's her problem you are talking about here?
and not yours?

Posted by slog in general, asking | January 23, 2008 7:45 PM

@40 - Why, both, actually.

Posted by poster in specific, answering | January 23, 2008 8:03 PM

"She needs some strait male attention"

yeah that'll fix her up...perhaps she just needs some phallic therapy. whats wrong wit' them bitches is they don't have a dick to call their own and to cuddle and make her feel all adequate and smart like the guys. cause men rule, and don't have any issues about what to do with their dicks at all... not like it controls them or anything.

Posted by pissy mcslogbot | January 23, 2008 8:07 PM

Aint my fault you have a gaping open wound that needs to be treated.

Seriously, if it isn't true, then how come so many women discuss how more relaxed they are post coitus and post orgasm. Seems pretty reasonable. I know I always feel better after I cum. I am sure that ECB would feel the same way, and then we may be spared the dumb smug posts that only serve the purpose of pushing more interesting stuff further down the page.

Posted by ecce homo | January 23, 2008 8:11 PM

On this one, Barnett, you're quite right.

Posted by BB | January 23, 2008 8:18 PM

"gaping open wound that needs to be treated."

nice. you certainly have a way with words and metaphor. unrivaled but for 5th grade boys everywhere. we love and welcome your deep perspective here on slog. thanks for that deep insight, ass.

Posted by pissy mcslogbot | January 23, 2008 8:21 PM

Why yes, as a matter of fact, ecce I AM the gender police, I've got a nifty badge, and handcuffs, and the riot-stick, and everything!

And of course, I could get MORE sexist. I could, for example call a woman's vagina a "gaping open wound that needs to be trea - " Hey! Wait a minute! You beat me to it! I had no IDEA you were a "gencop" too! How come I never see you at the shift briefings?

Face it, ecce, when someone with a handle like "pissy mcslogbot" is able to effortlessly rip you a new one (which, apparently is just what you need, since all your other orifi appear to be clogged with crap already), even someone of your cro-magnon IQ should recognize when it's time to cut your losses and go back to the half-way house.

Posted by COMTE | January 23, 2008 9:55 PM

I know a woman who likes the word cunt, though maybe it's the way I say it. Or maybe she just likes my warm breath on her clit.

Posted by Greg | January 23, 2008 9:57 PM

Pissy and COMTE: Why are we feeding the troll? Last time we stopped, he went away for a couple of months!

Posted by Big Sven | January 23, 2008 10:34 PM
"The group will not be running ads in any form and will not be making any robocalls. They'll be making T-shirts. That's it. You can buy them for $25 on their website:" (BTW, Charles may want to check out who's wearing the tee)
So they formed a tax exempt organization that sell T-shirts (or do they? note that the model on the website is not wearing a printed shirt, the logo is "photoshoped") but they won't be spending money on attack ads? (and why would they when places like the Slog will run them for free) sounds like tax fraud and/or phishing to me, note that all you can do on their web site is give them your name, address and e-mail, you can't say what size or style of shirt you want.

If one follows Erica's link to TPM, then their link to The Weekly Standard, the article there is kind of funny. e.g. "As a committed phony (the reason Stone so dislikes her), Clinton is all about winning." Um, Stone, what are you "all about"? Bureau of Inteligent Tartars Crushing Hypocrisy

But seriously, for scum he is not such a bad guy, "he says he'd be open to voting and even working for Barack Obama.". ??? Is he trying to imply that he is someone Obama might want, or does he hate the guys running against McCain so much that he would vote for a Democrat before one of them (it seems to me I've head something like that before)

Posted by Epimetheus | January 23, 2008 10:48 PM

Because, like snakes, ecce doesn't go dormant until his lil' troll-belly is full!

Posted by COMTE | January 23, 2008 10:49 PM

comte: hey, I like my reflected how i thought most slog posters were/are....and is homage to our beloved Poe. Love Poe, Poe is good, one day be like Poe.

but abooot feeding the the troll, dear Sven of the large.... it really doesn't matter w/ ecce, for ecce is like herpes, or the red tide or reruns of infomercials... we can't get rid of him... he is our donny osmond, but dumber and more pointless. if ya know what I mean.

Posted by pissy mcslogbot | January 23, 2008 11:43 PM
