I'm surprised about this. Last time I went to Satellite it took so long to get anyone to take our order that I figured any minor who went in would be 21 by the time they got their drink.

I agree. It's been a while since I've seen anyone under 45 in there.

What @1 said. I stood at the bar for 15 minutes before saying Fuck it there's a hell of a lot of other places that will take my money.

I have to ask: Are there ANY bars still open on Capital Hill?

Aw, I like Satellite. Met my current squeeze there (while said squeeze was dating someone else). I have a more-than-minor fondness for space-age themed bars, googie architecture, and all things retro-Sixties-ish (even if the '70s creep in now and then).

However, See Sound Lounge is a festering hole of banality and "I-dare-you-to-speak-to-me" skanky wannabe models, and should be turned into a Dog Spa immediately.

Doc, I'm totally with you on the Space-Age 1960's Googie architecture thing (you should see my kitchen!), but the only thing "space age" about The Satellite is the name.

"Spaced Age" would be more accurate in any case.

Yeah , I'm kicked out of there, so unless they let me back. I don't care.
