I do hope that the photo is mean to be facetious. I get pretty annoyed seeing people stick slogans on their children. Indoctrinating a child that has no understanding of the effects of their "position" on issues is utter bullshit.

We give them life. We feed them and house them and teach them right and how to get away with wrong. We call the hounds off them when it looks like it could lead to child protective services coming around again. And all we ask in return is that the wave a sign that says they agree with what we think.

Is that so much to ask?

At least those children aren't holding signs that say God Hates Fags...maybe it says that on the other side of the sign...or something about not having crossed a bridge yet...

funny how edwards can be so out loud and proud about his anti-PAC position yet somehow afraid to consider the rights of sexual minorities.

How courageous yet cautious he is at the same time. How daring and cowardly he is. What a true leader and follower he will be.

Gosh, I can't imagine why somebody who wants to be President isn't running around Iowa saying how much he loves the gays. Not that I'm calling the Iowans hillbillies.

Kids with signs are creepy. I don't care if I agree/disagree, it's just stupid. Besides, those kids aren't even close to voting age. Or, maybe they think Edwards will be their new daddy and keep mommy off of the "drinky sauce."

And "kids (heart) politics 2?" The hell with the ringing endorsement for English teachers everywhere, but kids (heart) politics as much as they (heart) writing thank you notes after Christmas.

Who said anything about Edwards running around in Iowa saying he loves the gays?

I think that an attorney and former senator and two time presidential candidate can figure out how to say he believes in the constitutional rights of American citizens - even minority citizens.

Don't you think that ought to be the least a President could do?

Why are you so quick to let your leaders abdicate to the lowest denominator?

Why are you surprised when you get politicians that suck when you don't force them to have integrity?

Boil it down for me...go on...tell me how I expect Edwards to give a speech on the merits of rim jobs just because I think he understands the harm imposed on same sex families but he won't discuss it.

Dude, calm down. I can't understand what you are trying to say. Which of Edwards positions are you objecting to? What is it you want him to say? Which (viable) candidate are you happier with?

Calmness is very 2007.

I guess I got excited in 2004 when my marriage was annulled in California.

I got re-excited when reading about the religious zealots in Oregon halting the minimal DP law from being enacted.

What are you so calm about? Maybe these issues don't affect you so you can ignore them and pick candidates like it's the Dating Game.

Going around offending the stupid hicks in Iowa who get to cull the field of candidates -- if not pick the nominee outright -- is a loser move. What is so great about losing? If Edwards was going around drawing attention to his support of benefits for domestic partners or adding sexual orientation to hate crimes, I'd be disappointed. I'm looking for a winner who can move the ball forward, not a liberal ideologue who does nothing but draw out donations from the religious right and feed a backlash.

I see people are taking Dawkins talking points and applying them as needed. These are children of a John Edwards supporter and are not themselves Democrats.

Thank god my mom and dad got me interested in politics when I was a little boy and didn't worry about some cynical twunts going off about the handmade RFK signs I taped to my wagon when I was 6 years old, and paraded around the neighborhood.

In fact, the day before, my mom had taken me to the Bartholomew County (IN) courthouse where Bobby arrived, sitting on the back of a red convertible, and gave a speech from the courthouse porch.

Even at the age of 6, I knew who I was going to vote for. Maybe these kids do, too.
