Live Slogging Project Runway

posted by on January 23 at 11:39 AM

It’s a bad sign that I can’t remember who was eliminated on Project Runway last week. All I know for sure is that it wasn’t Ricky, which was criminal. There’s no excuse for his continued presence on the show after this. I mean, please.

But I’m going to be tuning in tonight regardless. He’s gotta get the boot this week and I want to drink his bitter, bitter tears. So we’ll be Live Slogging PR tonight. Sorry we neglected to Live Slog last week’s episode—and the last Democratic debate, which was almost as important—but, uh, we were drunk or something. Or out of town. Anyway… 10 PM tonight.

It was the boring blonde chick.

Posted by Sam M. | January 23, 2008 11:47 AM

It was Kit, but it shoulda been the other guy.. what the hell is his name? The Draper. He is an asshole. And his clothes are all the same....boring.

Posted by M | January 23, 2008 11:51 AM

Yes, but he's hot. Much hotter than that gay, HIV+ dude that had to leave the show after he turned into a Who.

Posted by Dan Savage | January 23, 2008 11:54 AM

Yeah, because the HIV+ thing really matters...

None of them are hot. My taste in men is absolute.

Posted by Mr. Poe | January 23, 2008 11:56 AM

Dan, I seem to remember you were all about Jackie Lou Who- right up until the Grinch came and ate her face off.

Drunk and out of town?

Isn't that the excuse that closety Republicans use when they get caught in compromising situations?

Posted by michael strangeways | January 23, 2008 12:00 PM

I remarked on his tits -- everyone did -- because they were remarkable. But I was never really into him. As for the HIV+ thing, Mr. Poe, I believe the show, and Jack, made a big deal about it, hence the mention.

That prom dress was awful. I hope the poor girl wasn't under any obligation to wear it.

But I think Kit getting kicked off was the right choice. That girl was BORING. I don't think fashion design is really her thing. Maybe she'd be better off in interior design.

They're all boring. Except, I guess, Chris. I loved the glimpses at his portfolio last week. His drag outfits freaking rule. They should do a challenge where the designers have to make outfits for drag queens... that would be interesting to watch.

Posted by Dan Savage | January 23, 2008 12:20 PM

I was sorry to see Kevin go. My idea of the perfect PR manwich is Kevin in front and Rami in back. Mmmmmm... manwich...

Someone clue me in. I really don't get what's so excellent about this live blog shit. All it means is that if I'm not reading right at that very moment, I can't easily see the comments later. And what the hell is wrong with clicking "refresh" in regular comments??

Posted by leek | January 23, 2008 12:25 PM

That's an awesome idea, Dan! I would LOVE a challenge with drag queens!

Let Project Runway die already. It has become as boring and tedious as Queer Eye became the last couple of seasons. Just shoot it in the head and be done with it.

It is dull and drama free and therfore sucks.

Posted by Cato the Younger Younger | January 23, 2008 12:32 PM

wow. dan, you just got me yelled at in my property II class. nice going on the who comment.

and yes, they are all boring, except for chris and christian.

It's not that live blogging is a waste--it's that live blogging Project Runway is a waste. I watched half of the first episode of the current season, and immediately removed it from my Tivo To Do list.

tonight's episode, in which everyone designs with denim, will be a terrible disappointment to the ricky haters.

i project christian off, ricky stays.

Posted by lineout fan | January 23, 2008 12:42 PM

Why all the Kit hate? Ricky was way more deserving of the boot. Still, not nearly as heartbreaking as when Alison Kelly was prematurely ejected last season.

Posted by kid icarus | January 23, 2008 1:09 PM

Kit was stuck with stupid Ricky as her partner. Ricky better be eliminated this week as he is clearly less deserving than Kit or Kevin.

I like Sweet Pmaybe because I am a 42 year old white chick. (I also LOVED Laura Bennett so there you have it).

The 2 ice queens are a riot; Victorya and Jillian. Those girls are both so anal retentive. I love them!

Rami gets more boring with each week. He started off as a favorite and has just lost gusto ever since. He is a very uninteresting person. But that Hershey dress was very fabulous.

Christian on the other hand has gone up in value. I started off wishing him into the corn field but he has gotten a bit more humble with time and therefore I like him a tiny bit now.

Chris definitely has the entertainment factor.

My guess for the final 3: Rami, Christian, and one of the ice bet today is on Jillian.

Posted by Who cares what you think bitch! | January 23, 2008 1:25 PM

Listen, Ricky will cry even if he wins. He could get blown by David Beckham, win a million dollars, and get licked by a puppy and he'd still cry. He cries every episode no matter what. He's a fucking crybaby.

Posted by Gitai | January 23, 2008 1:49 PM

Poe and Dan -- I think they made a big deal out of the HIV thing to cover his plastic surgery related infection. I found him embarrassing and icky, which is my own sick prejudice at work.

And I loved Rami Cashew until he got all major with Sweet Pea. Calm down, girl, it's not even fashion! It's craft night on TV!

And Ricky must not only be banned from the show, he must be blown up on one of those huge screens in times Square, crying for all eternity. Crying and crying for all the latina/o butterflies who's wings are crushed by the unfairness of the world.

VictoriYa's hunger for power scares me in a bad way, and Jillian's in a good way. You know that VictoriYa would chuck you under a bus as soon as look at you. Jillian would at least say the kaddish over you afterwards.

Make it work, you assholes.

Okay, I'm currently without cable at home so where can I go with my computer and be able to watch AND get a wifi connection?

PS, by the way, Kevin was (is) the dreamiest of all of them but Rami is a close second. I'd sign up to be meat in that sandwich.

Posted by monkey | January 23, 2008 2:10 PM

I have to agree, Mark: there's something... off... about Jack's face. It was always hard to watch him... talk.

But nice tits. If you like huge man tits. Which I don't. But I can appreciate their beauty nonetheless.

Posted by Dan Savage | January 23, 2008 2:26 PM

Jack's face was funny but the fake-baked colored skin was a turn off as well as the huge man tits. He is going to be a D cup if he stops working out.

Posted by Cato the Younger Younger | January 23, 2008 2:34 PM

It was so Ricky's turn to go last week (construction problem after construction problem & he's still standing; he's the Robert of Season 4). And I liked Kit's work (except for that last Scarlett O'Hara gone wrong).

The mystery material is denim tonight? Great, let's see Rami drap THAT into a faux-Grecian gown.

Posted by usagi | January 23, 2008 5:35 PM

That dress was HEINOUS. I agree - Ricky should get the boot, the sooner the better. He has skated through too many times and he is annoying as shit.
I will miss Kit but I could tell she wasn't in for the long haul. Rami & Sweet P are also doomed...

Posted by Zil | January 23, 2008 6:28 PM

Help! I turned the channel and missed the winner being announced. Who won?

Posted by louie | January 23, 2008 8:27 PM

Oh Ricky your so fine, your so fine, you won this time...

and tears!

Posted by harold hollingsworth | January 24, 2008 6:35 AM

I can't tell you how much I despise Ricky.

Some thing's wrong with him.
