I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but when I look at the lineup, I can't help but think about what most of our country is seeing here. Thanks to the Internet, BS and double-BS is communicated to millions within seconds, and I can't help but feel (and hope) that the majority of '08 voters will be enlightened enough to make the right choice.

The Republicans have what they've always had: an array of religious white men who focus on issues that involve tax reduction, foreign bloodshed, bigotry towards immigrants and non-believers + the everlasting smug "God-loving husband/wife family is all that matters" rhetoric..oh, and let's not forget, the ideology that if we hadn't invaded Iraq, terrorists would have been performing attacks with epic proportions on a daily basis.

Third party shitheads are all Republicans who are ashamed of their party, but they're bright enough to see that their true social beliefs aren't going to fly anymore. Kind of like they didn't when it came to blacks and women.

We, however, have a candidate lineup that visually depicts true diversity. Although the mess that is "the war on terrorism/terror" will fall in our hands, we have the best thing going for us: the Republicans have shown that they're nothing but cretin scum. The only excuse they have right now is that "Bush isn't really a conservative" and all that says is that the moron saying it wasn't "really a conservative" at the time they voted for him. I'd say more, but I know I don't need to, and I've never been a fan of no-nonsense blogging...so..yeah.

I can only hope that we win. I hope we win by more than 10%. I hope we--if we win--grow the balls to hold the office with not only nobleness, but with competence. There are large issues at stake, and there are larger issues at stake. Whether it's Obama or Hillary, I can only pray to Anderson Coopers sexy face that we do well. Oh, and as an HRC supporter, even I hope that Bill Clinton starts shutting the fuck up.

i think edwards will stay out of it. no second fiddle for a second time. classy move to back out now, minimizing the damage of a fractured delegation at the convention. he was truly the best progressive candidate, but it's not his time (and may never be again). it's too bad.
