Could he just be in a coma. With all those sleeping pills maybe he is appearing dead and unresponsive. I know it is far fetched and all, but there are cases of people who awake from these situations that are pronounced dead at the scene. Why does doctors always jump the gun and start autopsy cutting before ultimately, checking out the science behind unconciousness. It could be possible to revive someone like this. adrenalin shots something.
I am saddened and anxious by all this so I guess I am just hoping beyond hope for a miracle like the story of the guy who grabbed the nurse who was pronounced dead.

It's absolutely tasteless right now to speculate about what's happened here, but I have to say: I just don't buy suicide.

His career had never been better...He was 5 months away from the release of the biggest movie of his career, and was in the middle of filming with Gilliam, who he'd worked with before (Brothers Grimm) and thus presumably liked. He had a 2-year-old daughter and a seemingly grounded life in Manhattan, if such a thing is possible for a film star. He was about to get a massage, at a friend/girlfriend's house, and he chooses this exact moment to off himself?

Either it was accidental, or foul play was involved. Regardless, I loved his work and my heart goes out to his family and friends.

i think people are dumb for a. putting out seemingly heartfelt emotions for someone that they don't really know, and only because he is famous. b. for getting on my ass for pointing our how shallow that expression is. its a shallow, hollow gesture to mourn for a celebrity. if you don't do it you're an asshole, but if you do it only to not seem like an asshole then you're making hollow gestures. even if the gesture is genuine it is shallow because you didn't really know who he was and you don't make similar gestures to other people who die around you all the time.

What is wrong about feeling bad that someone who was a well-known actor who was in films that many of us here enjoyed died at such a young age? Mourning is taking it a bit too far, I agree, but feeling genuine sympathy for his friends and family and also feeling a sense of loss that we won't get to see him really become the talent that I believe he was. Like River Phoenix, or Brad Renfro, or Kurt Cobain. It is called being a human being. It is sad when someone who has reached a certain level of success dies too young or by their own hand because it makes our toil in the muck that much more sad. I totally care more about Heath Ledger than the interest rate. This would be true even if he were not dead. The importance of the interest rate is ambiguous at best; no one knows if we're going into a recession, and even if we are, it's just a normal part of the business cycle. It's like getting excited and surprised the sun is coming up again. Yeah, it really sucks for some people who need to be cashing out as the market crashes. But why should I care more about them than a celebrity death?

I enjoy watching people who are good at their craft. Heath Ledger was excellent at his craft, and watching him gave me great enjoyment. And I value enjoyment in my life.

That is why Heath Ledger is more important than the interest rate cut.
