Now, some cute question about Chuck Norris. Huckabee sucking up to McCain.

McCain attempts a joke about stallone beating up Norris. Wow, this is interesting.

I am surprised at how much they are sucking up to the fiscal conservatives.

I also know, after talking to a Republican friend, that most fiscal conservatives think McCain is more liberal than Hilary. Weird, I know.

They are also trying to be nice to eachother. All kiss kiss- hug hug and shit. Much like the Dem's in NH.

And that says a lot. I think the people who supported Thompson will support Romney.

And while McCain looks like the most likely nominee, it's very interesting to see how well Romney is doing against the others.

More liberal? Does that mean they think McCain is more likely to waste money? I'm not surprised by that. If they're associating Hil with her husband, it was on Bill's watch that we finally got the budget balanced.

Not to mention that McCain likes to complain about unnecessary federal spending, but always goes after the low-hanging fruit (supposedly frivolous scientific research) and never any real offenders (agricultural subsidies).

Oh well, I guess I'll just be talking to myself....

Meh.

Yes they think he is more liberal than Hillary on MOST everything. And I know Hillary is a centrist, but her healthcare and other social spending is much greater than McCain.

That aside, most will refuse to vote for him. He is as polarizing as Hillary in his own party, and I dont think the mainstream media has covered it.

Most Republicans that I know are just pragmatic Libertarians. They couldn't give two shits about most social issues that the GOP takes under its wing (abortion, "sanctity of marriage", etc). All they care is about is taxes.

The social issues are solely for pandering to the religious right. The fiscal conservatives don't care as long as it helps them win elections. Most of the candidates don't really care either (Huckabee probably the sole exception).

It is for this reason that I think a Bloomberg candidacy helps the Democrats, regardless of who is nominated from either party. It's Ross Perot in 1992 all over again.

"Stimulus package" anyone?

Huckabee talked about the middle and lower classes, and for a few seconds, it almost seemed like I was listening to a man with some connection to the sane world and a grasp on facts. When a Endtimes Jesustard is the most appealing speaker, your party is in a world of trouble.

I'm not watching another one. No words of truth are ever spoken at these things.

That being said, I just took a quick a tour through the conservative blogosphere, and it does my heart good to see how savagely the commentators have turned upon their own. None of the candidates are cruel enough for the likes of Limbaugh, Drudge, Michelle Malkin, Mark Levin, Rich Lowry, etc. They can't stomach a single one of their own candidates, and they are hacking them to pieces.

From the ever heartless Malkin: "Sanctuary Rudy’s slipping. Big Nanny Huck’s fading. McCain’s still channeling Geraldo. And Romney’s running Spanish language ads. And this is the Republican field."

I hope this keeps up. There won't be a single Republican voter come November.

I'll be frank with you. Giuliani was the only one that really got the globalization thing and was the only candidate with a real urban perspective. He was right--we need to think of china as a customer.

Good thing none of them said global warming didn't exist. Only Romney and Paul touched on social security. Face it, if you are under 40, what you are putting into it now isn't gonna come back... IMHO.

That said, my most primary concern at this moment in time is the earth and McCain is the only Republican who even gives a shit. Plus, if he is nominated, I feel pretty sure any Dem could tear him up on the war issue in the general election.

(And I hope I'm not fantasizing too much...)
