I don't get why people bash the guys suing. Xbox live is STILL laggy and crashing on a regular basis. Couldn't sign on last night for an hour, couldn't download, and online play was impossibly laggy.

But yeah, I'll take that free game.

i don't play WoW, but does it ever go down? it seems like quite a job to keep 10M+ online accounts up and running 24/7, especially since Microsoft hit the 10M number 6 months earlier than they expected.

The MTV article linked to above has a portion of the terms and services that everyone agreed to and it seems to quite clearly indicate that they plantiff's have no case... let's hope so, this is a pretty frivolous lawsuit.

I suppose I should clarify that the suit was filed for that very short period of time around Christmas. I haven't had persistent trouble myself, but if someone can prove that the trouble is keeping up for even longer, then yes, that changes the scope of the lawsuit. Though I still doubt the trouble will last longer than the $10 value of that free game.

Xbox live is never laggy and it only crashed after Christmas for me, as it did for everyone. Sounds like your internet connection fucking blows.

The PS3's multiplayer never lags, but their online network is a fucking joke. It takes 20 years to download a game, and like Penny Arcade explained, it isn't convienient. Once they're done taking your blood and you've purchased your game, they ask you if you want it. Uh, no, gee, why would I want the game I just bought? Morons.

Sam, give us your gamertag. I want to play GEARS with you. Mwahahahah.

WoW does go down.

But I still don't see why I'd want to buy a 360 or a PS3 - not many games other than those boring FPS shoot em ups. And if you don't have a 1080p HDTV with more than 42 inches, the screen resolution is not that different ...

My Wii's great - and I'll be able to play Spore on it, as well as a lot more fun games, including many that actually get you exercise and are fun for group play.

Poe, you're still playing gears? goddamn, I'm down to chainsaw the fuck out of you, since I'm home sick. GT: corpus juris.

My connection doesn't blow. When live lags everyone on chat goes "WTF I CAN'T MOVE" then everyone is disconnected from the hosts. Then I say, "fuck it", and hop on my PC and get my game on lag free and crash free.

Also, examining case law will get you out of the ignorant state of believing that service agreements hold any weight in the courts.

Xbox Live does lag and crash. Don't believe the apologists.

The only one who wins is the lawyer representing the class. Its like the blockbuster case where millions of people got a free rental for being illegally charged improper late fees, The lawyers made millions while I got a free rental that i never used.

Good thing i am in law school

@4: I don't own Gears yet, along w/ quite a few other good Xbox games; finally caved in and got an Xbox this fall. As long as companies keep sending me badass new titles (like Burnout Paradise, wooooooooo), I'm never going to catch up. And now that the girlfriend knows about Viva Pinata, well, shit.

What fucking game are you playing that's so laggy the whole room is whining? That's the hosts connection.

GT: Poetellect

I'm at work, though. And when I get home I must Rock Band it up. Shoot me a message. We'll figure something out.

I have an extra copy you can have. I'll le mail it.

Burnout Paradise has defied everything that made Burnout awesome. I hate it. But that's me.

I didn't realize there were gamers on Slog - especially Mr. Poe! I just wanted to share that I finally finished Mass Effect this weekend and I have to say that the last two hours of that game are probably better written and more thrilling than any sci-fi movie I've ever seen. When I was done I had to just sit there in awe and watch the credits.

I'm working on Veteran diff right now on Mass Effect. After three runs it's pretty annoying. What I hate the most about it is that the way they set up the achievements, you have to play the game (entirely) at least 5 times in order to get them all. The most annoying ones are the 'ally' achievements. And bionic powers are for pussies. I'm not creating a bionic character. That's boring and stupid.

Note: everything I don't like is boring and stupid. Please make a note of it.

Did you get the romance subplot? Butt shot! Sex in video games is creepy. Apparently you can lez if you're a female, but there are no possible ways to have a gay character. Just some lez action. Lame.

And by lez, I believe you can only fuck that bitch at the Citadel. The whore. Uh. Totally forgot her name. Starts with a C. But yeah, do that mission and then select "thanks, I guess" or whatever, and she'll fuck you since money isn't enough.

Good times.

@14 - Wow. You're...advanced. I barely made it through on normal difficulty. I did have a psychic character - the medium kind, not the totally psychic one - because IT IS AWESOME TO USE SINGULARITY! I didn't know you could fuck the Consort (I think that's the name) but I did hang out and get a lap dance in the night club. It was irritating that it wasn't a fella, but I did make my Commander Shephard a hot bear - is that creepy?

It isn't creepy if that's your thing. I was pissed gray hair wasn't an option.

You can fuck the Consort and Williams. Williams is the achievement fuck, though. You can't fuck anybody else.

Start over with your character and keep playing. Play all of the planets. Some of them unlock other clusters that you can journey to. Most of the environments are the same save colors and weather, but it's still fun to explorez!

Yeah, I saw the Undertow thing at Midnight, but didn't feel like staying up the extra 2 hours, but I'll remember.

That is unless Burnout Paradise totally distracts me. Playing Road Rage on a high train trestle is intense. At this point I think it's better than Revenge, but we'll see if I still feel that way in a few weeks.

It takes me wayyyy too long to shake off the last games controls to just jump on in to hard and harder difficulties. I alway start at normal and work my way up. That's just how I roll.
