Uh oh. Looks like the Clinton campaign has hired another advisor!
i can't say i'm entirely surprised, but still... W O W
sometimes i'm embarrassed for humanity. this is so low... it's worse than just lying. i guess the question, "is america ready for a black president" did have some merit after all. i just hope this ad outrages people more than it quietly convinces the remaining bigots out there that they are not alone.
This should be distributed far and wide throughout the black community. The blowback potential could be enormous.
You needed a swift-boater to remind you that people are still very much a bunch of racist douche-nozzles?
Isn't this the guy who cheated on his wife and got caught doing it? Or was that a different GOP Hypocrite in the New Yorker?
The whole Swift Boat approach is specifically designed to disseminate this sort of message through unofficial proxies, so it can be denounced by the mainstream GOP candidates even as they benefit from its message. To the hardcore xenophobic racists this is targeting, this will probably serve its function as a call to arms. Anything that gets the GOP's crazy-ass base out to the polls this time around will help their cause, as they've lost a lot of these voters' interest by failing to deliver the race-segregated theocratic police state they've been not-very-subtly promising for so long.
The fact that most people will find it incredibly offensive only matters if the public starts holding candidates accountable for the statements made by these proxies. Which so far hasn't really happened.
someone is surprised? what cabbage patch do you live in? these people call mc cain a coward - they do not know the word shame
sorry to tell all the hot house children, it will get worse
and it is not clinton, it is the neo con cabal who likes looting america
there are trillions of $$$ at stake, war profiteering. and on and on, an endless list
the stake are high, and they will not yield power easily
i'm surprised because calling someone a coward is different from an attack on someone's race. and it's not that i doubt they are racist -- it's that i thought even racists involved in politics know that to be overt about such beliefs would almost certainly backfire.
To me, this is exactly why he's more electable. Stuff like this will (I hope) draw a hell of a lot more outrage and sympathy than a few tears and pranksters yelling misogynistic slogans. More than enough to outweigh the knuckle dragger who created this and others like him.
What countries are accepting Americans for political asylum?
whoah! that's a kickass piece of headgear.
While I could do without the oozing old school racial and colonialist overtones and obvious photoshopping, I really do like that hat. It's pretty fly.
(shaking head, sighing, unsurprised) Here we go.
Makes me all the more excited about putting Obama in the White House, though. Enough of the decades-long run of Southern (or Southern-posing) Rednecks....
Indeed. Obama is very obviously black, so I really don't see the advantage in underscoring that fact in an appeal to bigots who would never vote for a nonwhite candidate anyway. This sort of ad has much more value as a piece of reverse-psychology propaganda, as in "if you oppose Obama, you're an ignorant racist who condones this sort of depiction." If I didn't know Sampley was responsible, I'd almost think it came from the pro-Obama side . . .
Oh so what. Nasty tricks and race bating in American politics? Extremely oooolllldddd news.
Honestly, how can anyone call themselves a Republican anymore and still look in the mirror? The base of the party is composed of racist hillbilly sub-primate know-nothings. How does one not feel ashamed to be associated with that? The looniest, most out-of-touch-with-reality edge of the left wing is a thousand times more decent than their counterparts on the far right.
@17. and repubs describe dems as high-school dropout welfare recipients who only vote to keep their benefits.
16's right--nasty tricks and race bating in American politics is extremely old news, and we're idiots to report it.
Also, murder is extremely old news (check the Old Testament), and we will no longer report on it.
That's a totally boss African hat.
@19, as long as you never fail to bring us the latest antics of whatever vapid celebutard is currently featured on every other on of the ~12 trillion Hollywood gossip websites, we'll be happy
@15, You know, I hate to do this, but, how is Obama OBVIOUSLY black? Why isn't he OBVIOUSLY white? He's 50-50. Has some black features, some white features. He's not obviously black like say, Martin Luther King (who may not be 100% black, but I don't know).
Other than that, I agree with how ridiculous this shit in the U.S.A.
When Jean Chretien's droopy mouth (as a result of a stroke) was lampooned in an election campaign, Canadians sent the lampooners to political oblivion (of course the two weren't related, but I guarantee you the mockery of Chretien's disability didn't help the loompooners). I suppose it's too much to ask that Americans do the same. Of course, I don't suppose they have anyone else to choose from as all sides seem to get involved in this kind of disgusting behaviour.
Strangely, our political debates don't seem to denigrate into ridiculous shit like you have in the states. No denying our politicians are mostly jackasses much like yours, but they are a bit more, polite or civillized about it. Maybe it's no real improvement...
I heard this a.m. about some of these swift boat idiots attacking McCain. I should have guessed what they would say about Obama.
Does this crap make American's proud? Some of these idiots should ask themselves these questions.
The Wet One.
Hey Defector (@12):
Don't be such a pussy. Stay here and fight. It's your country too.
21: Your wish is my command.
Mike at 11:
You call the ignorant fucks yelling at acandidate running for the US presidency pranksters? And they're not misogynistic slogans. It's hate speech. 'Cause you know that uppity bitch just don't know her place.
by definition not misogynistic slogans are hate speech. it was a hate prank.
You call the ignorant fucks yelling at acandidate running for the US presidency pranksters?
Um, yes. They worked for a couple of radio shock jocks and were just doing it to stir up shit. Tasteless, perhaps, but ... a prank.
That could work as some really amazing satire. Sampley's losing his edge.
Of course, the fact that...
1.) Ted Sampley is NOT a member of the "Swift Boat Vets and POWs for Truth" nor has he EVER been a member of the "Swift Boat Vets and POWs for Truth"
2.) An SVPT principle denounced Ted Sampley's activity as "shameful"
...is quite irrelevant to your credibility.
I don't know why calling him the son of a Luo Tribesman is a bad thing. They sound pretty badass.
