I completely disagree. Edwards is not going to do well, but he makes Clinton and Obama better candidates. Go back and listen to Obama's and Clinton's speeches from tonight. They are beginning to incorporate some of his platform and that is a very good thing.

Leave 'im in. He sucks votes from Obama, helping my candidate, Hillary Clinton. When my mom, a heretofore Edwards supporter, heard what he said yesterday about Clinton's emotional moment, she *instantly* switched to Clinton. I'm convinced his aggressive, antagonistic attitude towards Clinton in the last five days cost Obama NH.

So by all means, let him stay in until the convention.

He can't win. He won't win. Ya, we get it. He wants to be Mr. President. But he also doesn't want. He KNOWS she'd be bad for the country.

At least 10 of his 16 something points tonight, had he not been in the race, would have gone to Obama. He's stealing votes from Obama. Just like the Nader people fucked us over in past elections.

If Edwards had a brain, or actually believed in what he claims to believe (CHANGE), he'd step back, back Obama, and hope for a chance at VP.

Edwards has set the tone of the Democratic primary, forcing Clinton and Obama to steal his populist rhetoric in order to win votes in these contests. He should stay in the race so that they continue to fight for the Edwards voters. If either of them adopt his language in the general election they will soundly beat the Republicans, who have no persuasive answer to his arguments on economic issues.

Seriously, are you on drugs, Dan? With two strong candidates, Edwards can be perfectly positioned to be a kingmaker, even with meager support. Given that Obama and Clinton are probably going to be evenly matched in the next few races, any delegates that he swing one way or the other might just make the difference.

Edwards had made the race interesting. Staying in he keeps it so.
There is also the issue of delegates. It the current trend continues the nominee will be chosen at the Convention. Also good drama that draws voters to the Democrats.

There's no *fucking* way this thing will still be in play by the convention. The last time the top of the ticket was still in question going into the convention was 1960!

Either Clinton or Obama will come out of Super Tuesday with a preponderance of delegates, and a lock on the nomination. Period.

unlike evryone else here in seattle I dont vote democratic out of reflix i vote for people that reflict my issues or values...edwards is putting those values on the table....getting people to talk about economic populisem...I think obama might be inclined...but the clintons ruined this countrys economy

I like the model that some countrys follow
if less then 50% of voteing public turn out it's not considerd an election and the race has to start all over again with new canadites and an interm non-partison (well in theory) presidenr.

It doesn't matter if he drops out or doesn't drop out. Dean stayed in through Wisconsin and just did not get votes. Edwards' people will abandon him for Obama, because they don't want Hillary. Unless E wins SC, which would be freakish, according to all polls. But who knows, between now and then, Elizabeth might cry.

i'm an edwards person and i'm going hillary if he's not viable (and im in a super tuesday state) and so are about 10 other friends and family that i know of.

so don't just assume all of his votes are going to obama. we need a president who knows how to work it out to get us out of this mess we are in. someone with experience. yes, obama is a wonderful orator. love him. he's great. he'll get my vote in 8 years. but for now i'm voting for someone who is badass enough to fight. not someone who is full of compromise and will get bulldozed over.

While I'm an Obamaton, I like having Edwards in the race to keep pulling everyone leftward and giving voice to the anti-corporate, progressive ideas that made the Dems a great party back before Bill and Hill dragged it into the DOMA/Dont Ask Dont Tell/WTO/NAFTA center.

Can we at least wait until Super Tuesday, after a significant number of states have spoken, before we start telling any of the Democratic voices to shut the fuck up? Anxious as we are to get Shrub out of the White House, this is a primary, and we need the process to test out who really has the skills and abilities to rescue the United States from disaster. God forbid we end up with another crappy campaigner like Dukakis or Kerry...
