Dear Slog

posted by on January 26 at 18:46 PM

I need your help. I’m on a mission to play Big Buck Hunter tonight, and the machines at the two bars I’ve been to are broken. Help me, Sloggy-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.

Was one of the bars Shorty's? If not, they have it there.

Love,
Slog

It'd help if we knew where you'd already gone. I know that Rewood has it. As does Twilight Exit, and it's always in good shape. Canterbury as well. And I think I saw it at King Cobra, but I'm not sure. Sadly, you JUST missed Happy Hour at Gameworks.

Go to the Canterbury! They have it! and shuffleboard, and foosball.

Yeah, the Twilight if you haven't already hit that up. It's also apparently at Sunset Bowl.

i find it hilarious that people know what arcade games are at which bars.

Big Buck Hunter is not an arcade game. It's a way of life.

The wife and I do this thing we like to call "big buck hunter" but we had no idea they make a machine for it. If it's anything like the way we play, I'm not surprised the equipment keeps breaking down.

The Meridian theaters downtown have one on the second floor, I think you can get up there without buying a movie ticket too.

I think the story here is that EricafuckingCBarnet was the first to reply to a question regarding Big Buck Hunter on a Saturday Night. What with all the brewhaha about the comments this week...

Also, LMAO (as usual) @ 14.

If you really want to go slumming, I think the Rolling Log in Issaquah has it.

Hey, you can buy your own for about $5k Or you could buy a DVD of Bambi for about $15, but I think that they did that "limited edition" thing with it, so you might need to look for a second hand copy. BTW, Cottontail and Snowshoe Hare are in season if you want to go after Thumper. And since this is the Slog, I suppose I should add that Cougars are in season too.

I thought my friends and I were the only ones into Big Buck Hunter!

Someone already said the Canterbury... well, I have seen it at Stewart's in Snohomish.

Spelling brouhaha incorrectly has been a sin ever since it was cool to quote Ms. Stroud from Dazed & Confused.

Just sayin'.

@ 10: I stand corrected. And since so many Sloggers seem to be into it, is there a Slog-sponsored BBH Tournament in the works!?

Is it still true that the Twilight Exit bartender calls Last Call by revving up a chainsaw and waving it around?

I concur with The General @8.

But I have had a hard time returning to Big Buck Hunter proper, ever since I met (and lost my heart to) Big Buck Hunter PRO.

@31 Not one of the bartenders - the old door guy. But, not really to call last call, he mostly just did it if he got bored. I learned last night that the chainsaw now hangs in memorial off the back of the building above the door to the deck. Apparently he came and left it there recently after he was fired. He liked to climb on the roof. Also @23 - you thought you were the only group of friends into Big Buck Hunter? Really?? Everyone loves that game. Don't you go to bars to play it? This confuses me. You must go to unpopular bars where you never have to wait your turn or something.
