Bring On the Brisket

posted by on January 11 at 17:04 PM

The Ranch House BBQ, which was wiped out by flooding in December, has found a new home.

One month and one day after the Ranch House BBQ and Steak House restaurant was destroyed by flood waters in December, the barbecue business got a fresh start today by reopening in the Governor Hotel in downtown Olympia.

The hotel has donated the restaurant space free of charge to the business for six months.

I’ve never been to the Ranch House, but I’m going to try and make Josh bring me back some ribs when he goes down to Olympia next week.

UPDATE: I’ve been informed this was already on Slog.

Shut up.

I bet you still didn’t know that they opened today.

You should be using your time finding more clips of Marion Barber.

It will be a huge improvement over the last restaurant that was there. It seems like nothing ever stays in for too long at that hotel.

Just went there tonight -- OMG -- perfect. Warning: they're packing the place on weekends still, so call ahead. Even if you don't call ahead, drop in -- it's worth the wait to get a seat.

It sounds like the new location is turning into a hot lunch spot :)

@ 2, I believe you're correct. This is what happens when I stick around the news room too late on a Friday.

@ 6- I've wanted to go to both of those places, but been talked out of it by other folks every time. I've been to smokin' petes in Ballard though. Meh.
