Keep us posted. The injunction that halted the Pharmacy Board's rules was a crass insertion of religion into public policy, and its going to be really tough to get the 9th circuit to overturn it. I don't know that people really understand how successful religious conservatives have been at gaining the power to base medical decisions on their religious beliefs.

Does anyone know of a pharmacy in the Puget Sound area that hasn't honored these prescriptions? It's probably naive of me, but I wouldn't have guessed that it's an issue here. Where I was born, yes. But in the liberal NW?

Dudes. The bill only applies to *prescriptions* for Plan B.

Currently, Plan B is an over-the-counter drug -or- does not require a prescription. This ruling will have no effect on the dilemma at hand: Pharmacies refusing the pill to women coming in to pick up a legal drug.

@4 The pharmacy that filed for an exception from the Pharmacy Board rules, resulting in the injunction, is based in Olympia. It's part of Stormans, Inc. who run a couple of Thriftways.
