Every Child Deserves a Mother ... »

Actual ad from a 1976 issue of Tiger Beat:
And I thought those tween-porn American Apparel ads were creepy.
Its like an ad out of Child Molesters Monthly.
Now, c'mon, "Tiger Beat" was totally aimed at tweeners - at least it was when I read it in the late 1960's (I was a big "Monkees" fan in my youth).
But still, those shampoo bottles ARE rather suggestive...
I hear these sell well at the RNC.
Those of you who missed the seventies will never know the full magic of that era.
American Apparel will make you look like a FAT HOOKER!
Kelly O; I thought I recognized those girls in the video, and then i realized they are the culmination of every girl on cap hill. i was disturbed by this realization.
I blame Barack Obama.
Thanks for the link, Kelly O. Alex Goldberg is sorta cute.
Mr Poe will have her killed...they're both competing for the same age of man...
Isn't that Fred Thompson's wife?
#7 - Those are New York girls - really sassy ones. Who write, who blog, who make videos. Don't be disturbed by smart girls with normal bodies??
Nothing frightens me more, Kelly O.
i'm frightened by all women. from the frumpy dorks you posted to the vapid anorexics of the world.
That's OK, BA, they're probably pretty frightened of you too.
its due to the armadillo in my trousers
Sorry #18 - I didn't realize that was an armadillo when I ran away! Totally thought something pervy. My bad.
who doesn't like spinal tap?
I love Jezebel. The Stranger could use more snarky feminist writers to balance all the porn love and Brittany Spears exploitation or your condescension toward female artists (if you bother to acknowledge any at all).
You guys can't seem to write a review about a girl band without some fucked up line about how they're brand new but having fun! (TacoCat)
It could be just me, but her hand looks freakishly large, and yes her lips and cheeks are way too puffy for this to not be overtly sexual... even the teddy bear creeeps me the fuck out. but teddy bears and scary clown made up kids are the makings of a seriously cheesy b-movie horror flick. though compelling in its' suckdom.
Clearly you are too young to know about the fabulous, short-lived Star Magazine. Now THAT was a great example of tarted-up tween girls.
@5: I remember!
Loved Baby Soft...and Body on Tap Shampoo...and Lip Smackers...
While this ad does nothing for me, thanks to your mention, and Erica's original one, you both helped direct me to the American Apparel ad, which does indeed do something for me.
An overall concept/result you might want to ponder for a while, next time you find yourself all "creeped" out, and wanting to share this sensation publically.
Oh, pardon me - this was yours also Erica. I got confused reading the comments. I shall pay MUCH more attention to your missives from now on. Looking forward to the tips!
I hope this is finally what gets you canned from the Stranger.
shame on you.
wait, we're not allowed to criticize ECB in the comments?
Tiger Beat hasn't improved any since then, either.
