Damn, that would suck.
Can you change the filing of this story from "News" to "Things that happen in my worst nightmares". My tiny little black heart goes out to those who are still trapped in their cars under god knows how much snow.
This is why you need to keep a spare board or set of skiis in your car.
Just in case.
Plus hot cocoa.
Damn, my dental hygienist was talking about this exact scenario as I was having my teeth cleaned this morning. Psychic dental hygienist? Sounds like a tv show.
i hate driving home in the winter...
Holy shit. Stuck in your car under 30 feet of snow. Now that presents an attractive choice: leave the car running and die of carbon monoxide poisoning, or turn it off and freeze to death.
I remember a story about a guy who was trapped in his car under an avalanche. He attracted attention by gutting the seats for metal rods and poking them up through the snow.
@6: You wouldn't freeze to death, even with the engine off -- snow is an excellent insulator. (In this situation your car has essentially become a snow cave.) The biggest danger would be suffocation due to the carbon dioxide you exhale. Fortunately, being big, metal objects, cars are much easier to find under the snow than, say, snowboarders.
