What the hell is the matter with people?

We take it at face value when a candidate says they will repeal all (or part) of DOMA and at the same time we are very accepting of Gore for saying something now that he might have believed 8 years ago but would never have said (and presumably done anything about).

No wonder we get what we deserve.

Actually, I would love to see him on a one on one debate with Huckabee and basically prove that Huck's so full of shit.

I can't get excited about either of them when they feel the need to promote their beliefs in little people in the sky and also promote discrimination. The great thing about MLK wasn't just that he was against discrimination, but that he lead, and lead on promoting equal rights when it was dangerous and unpopular to do so. Obama and Clinton can't even lead on an issue like same sex marriage when the trend towards it being legal everywhere is obvious.

Props to Gore for coming out clearly on this issue, and to Kucinich who is the only Presidential candidate with the balls to speak in favor of marriage equality.

Obama sounds like Huckabee - his statement on marriage equality is "marriage is between a man and a woman". What an idiot. Hillary is the same.

As for marriage equality, I think a lot of elected Democrats support it personally but don't feel like it's a politically advantageous thing to support publicly. It's a bit surprising in his case only because Gore has such a long history of social conservatism going back to the PMRC days. But he was also a big warmongering fuck back then, too, so obviously he changed.

Funny..I didn't hear him say he was sorry or wrong or anything like that.

It's great of him to make this statement. It might actually mean something if he explained what the fuck it's all about.
