I don't think I can hate him any more than I already do.

Thanks, Mike. Way to score some points for Jesus. You fucking bastard.

People forget. Shit like this is how the "Culture Wars" STARTED. Fuckabee makes Santorum seem like delicious golden syrup in comparison.

When he says these things -- "homosexuality and pedophilia to sadomasochism and necrophilia" -- are "publicly endorsed" he isn't saying that there is some government agency or other authority endorsing them, right? It's hard to tell without the context; does Huckabee footnote much?

I'm just thinking it sounds like his problem is with free speech: if one lone nut is publicly advocating necrophilia, Mike says we should silence them to save us from our armed kids.

(It's kind of gross to take what this guy says seriously enough to talk about what he is saying, but whatever. I ate a bug once.)

I wonder he blames his son's animal cruelty on? Feminists?

I'm becoming quite terrified on this man. He's numbers are shooting through the roof and he's the answer to the Right's prayers. (literally)

I have a hard time imagining a situation where he doesn't get nominated.

What is this "institutionally-supported" necrophilia, and where can I find it?

Well, bronkitis, you certainly can't believe that Mike takes any responsibility for his son's incipient-serial-killer behavior...because he's a family values kind of guy! So it must have been all those castrating, male-hating feminist schoolteachers who turned David into an animal-torturing fat-ass turd.

With any luck Huckabee will continue to get a free pass and the GOP will nominate him. Then he'll go down in flames against whoever the Dems put up.

As much as you pseudo-Canucks hate to admit it, more gun laws would have the same effect on availability of guns that drug laws have on the availability of drugs. For someone who is already committed to breaking SCADS of laws, passing more laws is not likely to be a major deterrent. And, oh yeah, that said - fuck Huckabee, for many other reasons than his position on guns.

On The 700 Club this morning I heard them say "Societies don't become more tolerant, they just find a new target!!"

This instance is perfect for that quote.

...of course Robertson was referring to conservatives being the new target, however.

Gun abuse is no different than drug abuse. Neither should be criminalized, but rather they should be addressed as medical problems. Gun owners need access to treatment and a social environment that encourages them to seek help.

Reagan did found the modern conservative era by denying mental health care, after all.

Huckabee is an expert on "Kids Who Kill", afterall. His very own son was a dog-murdering boy scout camp counselor lucky enough to have a pop who could get him off the hook for animal cruelty charges.

I remember that shooting well. I believe the kid had to kill some girls because one of them wouldn't go out with him.

So often, more than not, these shootings involve a straight guy who's got fucked up attitudes about women.

Oh, and the Omaha mall shooter had just broken up with his girlfriend, right? Well, speaking as a woman, but if you are the kind of guy who will go on a homicidal rampage if you get upset about something makes you someone I wouldn't want to be with, dig?

The "Til Death do you part" part of the vow screws up the necrophiliacs every time.

They should probably amend it to "til Death part you out."

Pray that Huckabee gets the nomination.

There is no way in hell he will get elected.

Guliani is the democrats worst nightmare...

Also, pray that Hillary doesn't win the nomination. If she does, the democrats will lose yet again.

That litany of Huckabee's reminds me of lyrics from a song in the musical "Hair":
"Sodomy, fellatio, cunnilingus, pederasty -
Father, why do these words sound so nasty?
Masturbation, can be fun-
Join the holy order kamasutra - everyone!"

"as everyone knows, pedophiles, sadomasochists, and necrophiliacs can legally marry in every state, so long as they’re straight."

Gotta say I think your reasoning's a little specious on that one. Pedophiles can't marry little kids, and necrophiliacs can't marry dead people - just members of the opposite sex over the (admittedly sometimes shockingly young) age of consent. Homosexuals can marry members of the opposite sex over the age of consent if they feel like it, too.

That doesn't make Huckabee any less crazy though.

If Huckabee wins the presidency, I will move away and never return to this miserable shithole of a country.

i'll be right after you, matthew, trailer hitched up and family bundled in. there is something VERY wrong with a country that would follow 8 years of bush/cheney with 4 years of fuckabee/unpecified vice creep. either that, or the elections are rigged. either way, too scary.

I'm already out of the country, but I think him getting elected would make me reconsider my citizenship. I would like to think that the country is more sensible than to elect him, but I've got this horrible, nagging feeling that I'm wrong.

So, necrophilia is illegal. You're not allowed to do that to corpses.

And the only place you can marry a dead person is in France (and I think you need the permission of some government official to do that).
