What Happened Last Night?

In case you’re wondering what went down at The Belmont Friday night, Christopher has a report on Line Out.

I moved to the hill three years and six days ago and almost moved to The Belmont. It was one of only three places I could have aforded then, a broke 19-year-old gay boy getting on with my life, coming out and leaving a small town. It was the first place I felt I could be myself and feel secure walking down the street holding hands with another guy. Now there's one less welcome mat for some broke 19-year-old, or anyone else for that matter. What a sad day.

What are you talking about?

This has got to be one of the most gay friendly towns in the country, aside from New York and San Fran...

Get over your persecution complex. There are plenty of old fags in this town that would die for the attention of a decent looking 19 YO. Hell, half of the night scene is dominated by gay or gay friendly places.

Grow up Mr. "I am 22 and everyone hates me"...

Yeah it's so sad when yet another dumpy craphole gets torn down.

You know how you prevent this from happening my hipster friends? You get a job, and then you take the money you make, and instead of blowing it on ITunes, beer, and meth, you buy the property yourselves. Then you can keep it as shitty as you want.

Until then, quit your whining.

Wow. It must be a great moment when your life turns into a Kaiser Chiefs song. Zzzzzz...

@2-
Ecce, your interpretation is so divorced from reality. This is about affordable housing, not gays in the neighborhood. My point is that some poor person -any age, any sexual orientation- has less affordable housing options.

And just to let you know, I spent my time on the hill living in a one-bedroom apartment with two other guys, scrounging the Queen Anne Larry's market dumpster for food and working hard to get by and put myself through Seattle Central and keep my g.p.a. high. My parents didn't support my 'act of rebellion' of leaving home and I didn't want to take out loans.

I pulled myself up by the bootstraps and cheap housing made it a hell of a lot easier for me to get ahead.

That whole incident seems typical.
not exactly like the French would do.
Now they know how to riot even over the dumbest things. Half of seattle would be upside down if it were French kids. And French cops. I don't know this whole incident just smells of France.
Except I don't see any King Louis the XVI to run out of Seattle. Just an art party nothing to see here folks move on.

Ecce, please calm yourself. Talking about prostitution on a library computer - especially a library computer in Auburn - can get you in a load of trouble. You don't want to end up back in prison, do you? After all, you've come so far....

We're all praying for you here, but you have to want to help yourself.

Someone attempted to spark a riot with the police, and the SPD refrained?

Count yourselves lucky, punks. ;)

"rioting" in the streets and then drunk driving or stumbling home seems like a well thought, intelligent way to encourage the city and neighborhood communities to get behind affordable housing to me...looked like fun though, hope it was worth it.
