Film

'Redacted'

Because no improvement can be made on the words written by Stephanie Zacharek, a critic at Salon.com, I shall repeat them for you, my brothers and sisters: "Of all the war-themed pictures that have been released so far this fall, it stands apart, and it stands alone: Redacted is confrontational, rough, immediate and confounding." This is the truth: Brian De Palma's Redacted is the first important fictional film about the war that refuses to end and kills too many by the day. (See Movie Times for details.)

this could very well be the best movie ever made, but what american wants to sit in a theater and think about this fucking war for 2 solid hours?

I wouldn't worry too much about the deaths in Iraq. Torah says "thou shall not murder". It says nothing about killing. Besides enemy combatants and their families are not human beings so killing them means nothing.

This is what Americans can't understand about the Palestinians, according to Torah they are vermin not human beings. Therefore killing a Palestinian so a Jew can live is like ridding your home of rats. Torah is a beautiful truth if only you'll take time to study it.

A few hundred thousand dead Iraqi vermin is justice, if Israel is more secure. According to Torah Israel must rule the middle east to repair the sacred vessels. The Iraqi women and children who are killed are meant to die anyway so Israel can be strong. Happy Hanukkah!

I'm going to skip this and see Sweeney Todd instead.

Sorry, but that's my choice. I'm sure it's a great movie, but ...

I think that Issur is the *best* satirist *ever*. I hope that those Jewish fans of the Slog don't get offended that he makes fun of them this much...
