"godfather of disco" mel cheren died today, too...
Holy Shit Eric. Perfect timing. Thanks. I gotta get down there to say hi to Damon of Don Cab. Had no idea they were in town. Wonder what he thinks of our old pal Ian Williams' meteoric rise to being a critics darling. Say Hi to the Boat guys if I can't make it over there. See ya in Anacortes, if the toyota can chug it that far. Rock on.
R.I.P - Mel Cheren - a true legend, you will be missed.
Look for a future upcoming tribute post.
Kudos to TJ for the reminder-
On the subject of DEATH, before I skip out the door.
Although I've only braved Stockhausen listening a dozen or so times, I've been fascinated and in awe of the guy. Colloborating with Bjork was a very hip recent activity of his. I remember hearing his quote about 9/11, and thinking, yeah, cool, that's the spirit - (even thoughy my approach would be in a more Tweeful genre)
