@10: there is a big difference between the talk box and the vocoder. they work in different ways and produce different sounds.

for good vocoder listen to giorgio moroder. it's more robotic sounding. talk box is manipulated by the shape of the mouth then processed through he synth. vocoder is sung into and processed at the same point.

the vocoder and talk-box can sound very similar at times. but the clear enunciation (less possible with a talk-box) and harmonizing leads me to believe a vocoder had to be used, even though a talk-box appears in the video.

the talk-box appears in the video because it's cheezy, yes, like the keytar, but mostly because you cannot recognize a vocoder in a video.
