As long as she doesn't name her tractor "Muhammad", she should do fine.

She's encasing the pictures in ice? Wow. I can think of a hundred better things to do with those pictures rather than destroy them with moisture.

Oh I get it ... She is insane! But because she is international and culturally aware it's ok ...

Believe it or not, John Nash wanted to do something like this. He tried to go to the Switzerland, revoke his US citizenship and declare himself a citizen of the world.

@ WiS, maybe she plans to take those ice-encased pictures and throw them in the ocean, thereby decreasing the temperature of the oceans? ;)

3, yes of course it does.

And no one here cares a lick about global warming, ECB flew to Spain according to her post, equivalent to driving a hummer to Florida and back.

@8: yah, she seems insane. maybe it is a thing you do when you are insane. when I was insane I tried to renounce my US citizenship and move into Canada, but they wouldn't let me past the border. I guess I should have just told them I was visiting and then I could have stayed awhile.

@13 ...

Taken WAY out of context, but ok. John Nash is the beautiful mind guy who went schitzo. Renouncing citizenship in Europe is almost ALWAYS a bad idea because you don't necessarily get allowed to stay there. Getting a work permit is easier in Canada than say France ... or Switzerland. I'm not saying the citizens there don't get a sweet deal. Not saying I don't envy them in the slightest! But they have their issues too ... you DON'T get to be a citizen of many of these socialist countries, and you might find with the way they get taxed out the ass, you might not want to .... From what I gather, most of the Rolling Stones, several of the Beattles, a lot of older rich Brits have taken on American Citizenship for that particular reason ...

What really gets my goat about this woman, is that Africa ... well parts of it ... are piss fucking poor with their reputation of treating women. Among several other things, the second to last place I would look for cultural awareness.

But that is just my opinion.

@14: yeah, I know who John Nash is. I've seen the movie and read the book. I'm a fellow schizophrenic. That is why I was saying that maybe it is a thing crazy people do. hehe. I guess I forgot to mention that I'm a lunatic too! :)

And, I don't know why, but it does seem sort of unsettling that this white, European, well-enough off woman is traveling through all of these war-torn and poverty stricken areas on a fucking tractor! Oh yeah, and taking pictures of herself looking so artsy on the tractor. It seems absurd and at the same time imperialistic. I don't know. That is just the feeling I get.

@15 ... well then maybe I'm totally with you on this one. Imperialistic is one way to look at it ... but I think a tad bit pretentious.

But then again, what the hell do we know.

Funny, I read the book before I saw the movie .... and I wondered about some of that stuff, a lot of his activities were very much pre-brokeback mountain and not entirely national cinema worthy. How can you not wonder what it's got to be like to watch Russel Crow go solicite for hand jobs in public restrooms?????
