What a fucking waste of my time. I could have spent that time reading about children getting raped and murdered. I'm not clicking page 2.

God, Sedona sucks. But the upside is I found a Joey Heatherton album at a thrift store there.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that all of these supposedly enlightened people are multi-fucking-millionaires? I could be pretty fucking blissful with a few mill in the bank too.

@3 - nope, right with ya. Screw those d-bags in the ear.

@2 - Mmmm, Joey Heatherton . . .

I LOVED this article when I skimmed it this morning with breakfast. I mean, these people like to find a spiritual place and then rip into the Earth to build a 2nd home. Later there's a photo of the man and his son watching TV with their backs to a statue of some guru. So perfect.

Hard, but NOT impossible!

I love how it describes how they found this wonderful place with its "spiritual qualities", recognized by the Indians -- they don't mention any particular kind of Indians, but all Indians are spiritual, like, right? -- and then DESTROYED the place by building a fucking house on it.

Because the prime focus of higher consciousness is ME, ME, ME, right?

These people should be dragged behind cars.

Sorry, Dan, "Zzzzz" is reserved for the exclusive use of Charles Mudede.

Sedona is beautiful. I drove through there last summer. I decided to take a drive all by my lonesome over a mountain pass from Prescott to Flagstaff and you have to go through Sedona.
In the middle of nowhere they announced on the radio that anybody driving needed to find refuge immediately because a monsoon was going to hit.
It scared me to death but I was all alone on a mountain road and refused to pull over because all I could think about was some serial killer finding me there alone on the side of the road.

There Mr. Poe I thought I would bore you even more.

It's o.k.

I found something else to be annoying on.

Ah yes, the "Spirituality" = "Life$tyle" equation:
Many people acquire second homes to seek out sun, surf or snow. But for those like the Birrittellas, a second home is for seeking out the soul.

Yup, nothing like acquiring vast wealth to help one get rid of material attachments. Camel, meet Eye of Needle.

Double barf. Listening to rich people talk about their fantasy spiritual getaway houses, meditation, and other such New Age bullshit makes me feel like a cantankerous old man.

Really, who can afford a second house these days, when most people can barely find the money for one, if that? Your late-term 'Buddhist' awakening isn't going to save you from the legacy of your acquisitiveness. It's called karma, bitches.

since you meditate with your eyes closed, why do you need a 2nd home in a "spiritual" location to do it in?

It is justifying materialism that these people say they really do not need because they are enlightened and happy no matter where they are.

Meditation can be bad for you.

You don't LOOK at the vibes, dood. You VIBE to them. They're all around you, man, can't you feel 'em? Whoa! I think they're coming from the direction of the wall safe!

I can feel the vibes in my crotch whenever I watch AC360. That's how I meditate.

@15 - Nice, Fnarf.

Since somebody already double barfed on this one, I will raise it to a triple barf.

@14:

maybe its bad for some, but its been really helpful for me.

and you don't have to be a buddhist to do it.

Clearly you don't meditate Dan. Or at least miss part of the point of meditating.

Hey, our house is green, not its color but the amount of energy it uses. And no wonder there is war in the world. This is only an article and you hate us!
Nice.
