It's not that I don't agree that we should be outraged, but this comment makes me feel alienated and irritated:

"When innocent people are killed in a religious facility or a place of worship, we must voice a collective sense of outrage," Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter

Shouldn't we be outraged no matter where the innocent are killed? Perhaps I'm being defensive. Is this extra-bad, like hate crimes are?

Um, what about the news of the Seahawks winning their fourth straight division title?

Fan - it's not too late to subscribe to The Seattle Times. We like to fixate on ASSHOLES here.

Frankly, Fan, the division title is pretty meaningless, at least in our craptacular divison. What's more, it's giving some people delusions about our shot at the Super Bowl which is both annoying and crazzzzzy

Patriots = Assholes? Who wouldn't pick on a guy like The Steelers' Anthony Smith who, earlier in the week, guaranteed that The Steelers would win? Smith spent the entirety of the game running around doing nothing that would appear to validate his guarantee.

There's your asshole.

Oh, I agree that Steve Kelley is a delusional homer but you don't have to be a total killjoy either.

From the article about an Icelandic boy calling the White House:

"Atlason's mother Harpa, who was not home at the time, said she was shocked to find her son had been taken away by the police but could not quite bring herself to be angry with her son.

"He's very resourceful you know," she said. "He has become a bit of a hero in Iceland. Bush is very unpopular here."

I love how casually she notes that Bush is unpopular, as if he's so universally unpopular that its hardly worth mentioning.

Man, I'd like to take that icelandic kid out for a beer.

If by assholes you mean the Patriots take pleasure in kicking the ass of every team in the NFL, and in embarrassing a guy who "guaranteed" his Steelers would win, then OK.

The Seahawks are lucky they don't have to play New England; it would be ugly. The Hawks have yet to show they can play with the big boys.

I like how the Icelandic boy defeated White House security with Wikipedia.

So have we invaded Iceland yet?
Oh wait, we'd need some available troops for that.

It is now up to the Dolphins to stop the hated New Englanders from doing what they were able to do with Bob Griese, Larry Csonka and the great Mercury Morris. Death to New England.

Speaking of England(old) it was great to see Mayweather beat the living crap out of the british champ. Vegas was full of limeys who flew over cuz they thought their boy was going to whip on Mayweather, it was funny watching their faces as Mayweather peeled their champ's onion. Mayweather whupped him like a red headed step child while the brits sang God Save the Queen. I for one, had never seen Mayweather actually punch for power.

@SeMe: There's only 1.....RICKY HATTON! RICKY HATTON!!! RICKY HATTON!!!!!

No matter that he lost, Hatton is still the man. Hands down, I want a re-match.

you might want a rematch but hatton wants none. he might be the man, but he is a whupped man. his own peeps threw in the towel. did u see his dad, he was almost crying to stop the whupping.

mayweather rearranged his limey brain with that last hit.

im not a mayweather fan, but man he whupped that boy. cotto might be able to beat mayweather but that limey needs to rewrite his winterwonderland song.

Wow...

First The Stranger deems the findings of human rights abuses at the King County Jail is not newsworthy...

Then no mention of Human Rights Day and the beginning of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

Why does The Stranger hate human rights?

Unfortunately you'll probably get some pretty good returns on that investment with the new mass taser crowd control taser device they're developing.

I think Slog as a rule ignores commemorative days, unless its SPAM Day or Introduce Your Mistress to Your Wife Day.

I understand its the thing to hate on the dynasty, being from Boston I know it all too well. But at least those of us who hate the Yanks hate them b/c they're a bunch of assholes. The Pats at least attempt humility, even though they have no reason to as Tom Brady and the rest of the team (Bruuuuschiiii) are one of the best football teams ever assembled and continue to completely earn the title of the best.
Hating doesn't make your bunk ass team any better, sweetie. Just makes you a widdle sour puss. ::squeezes cheeks::
