In the U district it started about 5 minutes ago while I was walking down the street in a t-shirt. I can handle the cold and wind just fine, but when ass cold dandruff starts piling up on me i scurry home like a wussy.
It looks gorgeous from my warm, comfy office though!
I'm downtown at work in the market and the wind is gusting the snow down the street in a crazy way. Everyone's trying to rush into the stores and out of the cold!
It's coming down like crazy in Olympia as well.
It's being kind of a tease though. Keeps coming and going. For a minute there, it was so windy that the snow was blowing near-horizontally!
I'm sitting in my living room on Mercer & Harvard, looking through the window toward Broadway. It's just barely sticking on the cars below my window. Ooh, it's sticking more now!
I hope it's snowy enough to sled down Denny this year.
it's starting to stick to the bushes on 12th avenue east, but not the road. still, it's lovely and a good day to be inside drinking hot cocoa.
It's snowing pretty hard in Magnolia.
I'm standing on my porch naked like Robert Frost.
comin' down in wallingford!
Thick as cats in SLU...
It just started in Issaquah, and I can see it coming down from Tiger Mountain in a big white wall. We were supposed to go to a holiday party in Bothell, but now we are not.
Bellingham, and its not slowing down up here. We probably have 4 inches.
Bellevue yes. Sticking no.
I'm new to Seattle so I'm curious to see the reaction to this amount of snow- is it normal this time of year? I'm from NY so I'm used to it, I'll still be going out to have fun tonight.
In the courtyard of my building, some updrafts are making the big, fluffy flakes circle and dance. It's awesome.
I AM FUCKING FREAKING OUT. But I'm on acid, so it's kind of expected.
12th ave s on beacon hill has the biggest snow flakes i've ever seen
Let the panic and car crashes begin!!
Trish, it averages 3 days of snow a winter in Seattle. It usually melts off in a day.
Dude!
I'm in Ellensburgh where we have six inches on the ground already! If yous guys are getting snow in Seattle now, that usually means there's a hell of a lot more headed our way!
Thanks for the info, SDA, I'll think I'll stick to my neighborhood tonight instead of coming downtown.
before i came back here to my desk to see what y'all was doing i was watching the wintry scene in the international district (..little saigon)across the street from my apartment the shoppers at lam's seafood market are double parking and standing in the street staring at the sky and grinning.. i can see em from my beautiful bay windows.. i went to the market earlier and got some pork belly which is now simmering in dark soy sauce, coriander, ginger, rice wine, and garlic..
i'm fidna make some tea,
and eat a brownie ( ahem..)
good times !
Belltown, and it is glorious, swirling and magical!
It's coming down and sticking in West Seattle. Fuck! I was hoping to make it to Neumos tonight
Biggest snowflakes ever! Doesn't look to be sticking here (Fremont).
Now I wish my lazy ass had done my grocery shopping earlier. Whoops.
13th Ave E is completely covered in snow.
It's snowing pretty good here in Belltown.
The first snow is a big deal for me and my oldest, we always go out together to enjoy it. Last year I wasn't able to after I was held under false charges, so this year it's very special to us. I cried last year when it snowed and I couldn't share it with him, this year I teared up a bit because I could.
Not only do I get to spend the time with my son I wish I had last year, but it's also his birthday today too.
i wish i was at riz's place.
Wedgewood and it is coming down good. And I was at U-Village waiting for fucking Metro (the 65 was 10 minutes late) and it is coming down heavy there as well.
Lowlands of Magnolia: snowing hard and sticking!!
Just gazing out the window singing school boy songs about snow and rain which I can not remember - and now delaying all I was about to do for Sat. as I slept in late and played five finger thrills for several hours .... lots of food in the kitchen, beer in the cooler, and perhaps will call a friend, yes he is sexy, to come over and and smoke a joint..... hint, hint
Driving in Seattle with snow is insanity. Bus is worse.
We got a half-inch of snow in Victoria this morning, but it's already gone.
Ski hills will be happy, though.
Big snowflakes mean warmer, fatter, and wetter snowflakes. When they stick, they're the ones that'll break trees. I'm expecting to lose power any minute; my madison valley neighborhood usually seems to go first.
I wish I was at riz's place too.
It's big beautiful flakes up in Wallingford!
The only reason I hate it is my online sex trick just called and said he isn't driving over in this stuff :-(
just stopped on vashon. but not before we played it, had hot cocoa then played in it again.
nevermind, started up again!
19th (top of cap hill) has about half an inch of wet, fluffy stuff sticking for the time being.
KUOW just had one of them there "emergency broadcast system" announcements that was NOT a test... advising Hood Canal and other areas that the snow advisory was going til 10pm.
That is all. I'm catching some vid of it on my balcony and deck.
Portland got nothing but a few fake out flakes!
Still going strong here in Ravenna--hot cider and Bushmill's in my hands. Kids outside completely losing their minds ("It's SNOWING!!!!")
They are saying on NWCN that this is going to go on until around 10pm tonight. Guess I am going to stay home instead of going out looking for cock on some cute guy. WTF, there are no cute gay guys in Seattle with cocks!! LOL!!!!
Are there any gay bars left since Manray and Pony closed? Are we just left with Purr, The Cuff and Madison Pub? (I never have considered Neighbors a gay bar, it is a breeder club that thinks it is gay)
Been snowin pretty heavily for about an hour here in west Redmond. Not sticking to the road much., just .2" on other things. It was 39 degrees about a half hour ago and is now 36, snow amount in the air unchanged.

You can always hang out in the bathrooms at Cascade park, or under the trees just to the south of the Asian art museum.
Ask around, thats where all the real 'mos hang out. They have the Dan Savage seal of degeneracy...
hey Just me--LOL is for 12 year old suburban girls PLEASE STOP FUCKING USING IT!
fuCKIN' s`now..> I left Chicago `to get away from this shit... Big monster flakes in Greenwood, sticking, BLECh>
try the Cresecent, you never know ... and the Elite is supposed to open in its new location tonight
JUST SOME ADVICE - take it where you find it
And the search can be interesting, you act like it is a bag of graded potatoes just waiting at QFC, it ain't
A few years back I hooked up with a guy in Portland, kinda plain, but friendly and nice, at first, no real chemistry. A grad student, hovel of an apt, and from the first kiss it was three days and nights of sexual heaven, far beyond just hot and good - unbelievable.
Have always been glad I did not buy that book based on a glance at the cover - I get turned on just thinking of all the things we did over and over and over
And I think it was snowing too ....
I'm in Denver, where it's raining.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
GTFO AND DIAF!!!
Add your Seattle snow photos to our Flickr pool, why don't you?
I'm partially inside a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream.
The roads are still clear, but the trees are covered and it's gorgeous out there. I'm listening to the Phil Spector Christmas album and drinking the mocha I braved the mean streets of Issaquah for...
Hope everyone stays safe and away from crazy people in SUVs they can't drive.
SNOW IS STICKING TO THE CEMENT ON FIRST HILL!!! WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW????
Still not sticking to the main streets on Phinney, but the flakes are major fatties and it sure is pretty.
Interesting to look at the faces of folks going to and from the bus stop. Most have joyful expressions, but there's a smaller subset that bear frowns.
It's snowing and sticking over here in Bremerton/Silverdale. Earlier we had huge fluffy flakes and it was snowing heavily, now the flakes are a lot smaller but it's still coming down at a good rate.
@ 45 -- if that's the view in Fremont, then you guys just got hit by a very blue-black meteor. My condolences.
It's still coming down like Vili Fualaau (cf MF) here in Wallingford.
I wish my sex trick had snow tires :-( Keep Looking, that post was really sweet...right on for you and your crazy gay times! :-)
Nice Fulaau bomb 53! Did you catch the one on 30 rock this week?
I was like, NO SHE DIDN'T!
It's been snowing in SE Renton for about 4 hours, but only been sticking for 30 minutes. The temp has also dropped 6 degrees since 2.
"Roads closed, pipes frozen, albinos...virtually invisible. The National Weather Service has upgraded Seattle's blizzard from 'Winter Wonderland' to a 'Class 3 Kill-Storm!'"
We should soon be seeing a snow penis or two around Capitol Hill soon. I remember seeing a gigantic one on 12th ave east a few years ago. It was delightful sight.
@ 54 -- Thanks, bro! I don't watch 30 Rock, but glad I could make your week that much more Fualaau!
@ 57 -- SNOW PENIS!!! YEAH!!!
Should I go out and work in this stuff? Or should I go to the liquor store and buy some Bailey's? I could just watch it come down from the comfort of my apartment.
I can usually handle the snow (I'm from MN), but I'm nervous because for the first time ever I have an automatic tranny.
@ 59
Yeah, I hate manual Trannies. They never use enough lube.
But seriously, hot buttered rum and borscht tonight. Polish food is best when it's snowing!
A few flakes for about 10 minutes in Tacoma, but not sticking.
Stopped now...
Stopped in Shoreline too. Still dusting though.
Get the fucking toboggan out. Strap in w/ bungee. Aim downhill. Brandy, tea - heat.
I'm going to Riz's.
@ Languagepolice, LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL!!!
Now, we need it to stay below freezing for the night! Driving will be GREAT!!!! Death on the Highway!!!!!
It started again in Shoreline. No, wait, it stopped. It's off and on. Bourbon.
What the HELL happened to the pic of the cute guy with glasses???!!!!! I wanted him to be my snow stud for the night. I LOVE guys with glasses!!! YUMMY!!!
I heard there's a party at Riz's place. What time? Can someone link me to a Google map or some shit? kthx.
Riz has kegs.
Tizzle @59: Stick with the Bailey's. I know snow as well having lived in Boston and Toronto, but snow is so rare around here you will be a sitting duck for some clueless SUV driver.
It seems to have stopped here on Capitol Hill.
Riz's pork recipe sounds great. I've got chicken thawing but I have all the other ingredients. Hmm...excuse me while I run to my kitchen...
Someone please fax me liquor tonight, all we have is triple sec and that's no good for snow. I had to emergency-learn how to drive a stick shift in this stupid ass snow today, i.e. I spent a lot of time stalled half-in half-out of the driveway. While freaking out about being late to work. It was joyous!
Ooops--don't have ALL the ingredients that Riz mentioned. Just half a bottle of Mad Housewife merlot and some Japanese plum wine from my sushi party in October (in case you're wondering who actually buys that shit). But any port in a storm...
Katelyn,
Collect a bowl of cleanish snow and mix it with two cups powdered sugar and a couple shots of cold triple sec... orange snow ice cream, yumm!
The power's out in the Madrona/Leschi area, since about 3PM. The snow was really sticking to the trees, so some lines are probably down. My hubby swears he heard transformers exploding in the distance...
And it's back on again...
Good advice RainMan, you were totally right. I braved the 6 blocks driving to the liquor store. That was easy enough, but no way I want to drive on the east side where I work.
A toast to snow, and to SUV drivers staying off the road, or skidding off it.
I have these beautiful studded tires, with the most excellent traction a girl could ask for... Blahblahblah. I hate snow.
angela @ #26..that was funny because i was actually thinking of you ( and your writing) when i was gettin that belly together. i simmered that puppy for three hours and the glaze cooked down and the meat fell apart and stuff and this isht is the deal..sorry i didn't think to invite you and nat @ #31
63,68, 69.. y'all do know that there rilly is not a party at my house. i gotta spin at r-place. i already got my ride arranged. y'all can still come over here but there won't be anybody home. however the neighborhood crackheads and they concubines might still be looking for buisness up the block if your mood swings in that area..
oh..
those brownies sure are strong..
Yes power out for hours now here in Leschi eating dinner in the dark. Transformer blew right across the street. Meh. Txting to slog from cell phone.

Loved roaming around Capitol Hill in the snow this afternoon.
Didn't love being in the 43 bus that jack-knifed at the top of 23rd/24th Ave E headed towards the U-District about 3 pm today.
ah, riz--i ate an, ahem, cookie and am touched. that belly sounds goood.
Hm, all the crackheads seemed to have ducked out of my neighborhood.
I suppose I'll just have to get through the evening on chicken-and-dumplings, hot muddled mead, and unbaked herbs (ahem).
@81: Wow, they actually made the big vein. Fine craftsmanship. I'm impressed.
It's just before 9am, I'm on First Hill, and it is snowing again. Gotta love December!
It is snowing/raining in Wedgewood right now. It is just falling into piles of slush though so instead of being cool is is just messy and wet.
Here's something to keep you warm:
