In the U district it started about 5 minutes ago while I was walking down the street in a t-shirt. I can handle the cold and wind just fine, but when ass cold dandruff starts piling up on me i scurry home like a wussy.

It looks gorgeous from my warm, comfy office though!

I'm downtown at work in the market and the wind is gusting the snow down the street in a crazy way. Everyone's trying to rush into the stores and out of the cold!

It's coming down like crazy in Olympia as well.

It's being kind of a tease though. Keeps coming and going. For a minute there, it was so windy that the snow was blowing near-horizontally!

I'm sitting in my living room on Mercer & Harvard, looking through the window toward Broadway. It's just barely sticking on the cars below my window. Ooh, it's sticking more now!

I hope it's snowy enough to sled down Denny this year.

it's starting to stick to the bushes on 12th avenue east, but not the road. still, it's lovely and a good day to be inside drinking hot cocoa.

It just started in Issaquah, and I can see it coming down from Tiger Mountain in a big white wall. We were supposed to go to a holiday party in Bothell, but now we are not.

I'm new to Seattle so I'm curious to see the reaction to this amount of snow- is it normal this time of year? I'm from NY so I'm used to it, I'll still be going out to have fun tonight.

In the courtyard of my building, some updrafts are making the big, fluffy flakes circle and dance. It's awesome.

Trish, it averages 3 days of snow a winter in Seattle. It usually melts off in a day.

Dude!
I'm in Ellensburgh where we have six inches on the ground already! If yous guys are getting snow in Seattle now, that usually means there's a hell of a lot more headed our way!

i'm fidna make some tea,

It's snowing pretty good here in Belltown.

The first snow is a big deal for me and my oldest, we always go out together to enjoy it. Last year I wasn't able to after I was held under false charges, so this year it's very special to us. I cried last year when it snowed and I couldn't share it with him, this year I teared up a bit because I could.

Not only do I get to spend the time with my son I wish I had last year, but it's also his birthday today too.

Just gazing out the window singing school boy songs about snow and rain which I can not remember - and now delaying all I was about to do for Sat. as I slept in late and played five finger thrills for several hours .... lots of food in the kitchen, beer in the cooler, and perhaps will call a friend, yes he is sexy, to come over and and smoke a joint..... hint, hint

Driving in Seattle with snow is insanity. Bus is worse.

Big snowflakes mean warmer, fatter, and wetter snowflakes. When they stick, they're the ones that'll break trees. I'm expecting to lose power any minute; my madison valley neighborhood usually seems to go first.

I wish I was at riz's place too.

19th (top of cap hill) has about half an inch of wet, fluffy stuff sticking for the time being.

KUOW just had one of them there "emergency broadcast system" announcements that was NOT a test... advising Hood Canal and other areas that the snow advisory was going til 10pm.

That is all. I'm catching some vid of it on my balcony and deck.

They are saying on NWCN that this is going to go on until around 10pm tonight. Guess I am going to stay home instead of going out looking for cock on some cute guy. WTF, there are no cute gay guys in Seattle with cocks!! LOL!!!!

Are there any gay bars left since Manray and Pony closed? Are we just left with Purr, The Cuff and Madison Pub? (I never have considered Neighbors a gay bar, it is a breeder club that thinks it is gay)

try the Cresecent, you never know ... and the Elite is supposed to open in its new location tonight

JUST SOME ADVICE - take it where you find it

And the search can be interesting, you act like it is a bag of graded potatoes just waiting at QFC, it ain't

A few years back I hooked up with a guy in Portland, kinda plain, but friendly and nice, at first, no real chemistry. A grad student, hovel of an apt, and from the first kiss it was three days and nights of sexual heaven, far beyond just hot and good - unbelievable.

Have always been glad I did not buy that book based on a glance at the cover - I get turned on just thinking of all the things we did over and over and over

And I think it was snowing too ....

Still not sticking to the main streets on Phinney, but the flakes are major fatties and it sure is pretty.

Interesting to look at the faces of folks going to and from the bus stop. Most have joyful expressions, but there's a smaller subset that bear frowns.

Should I go out and work in this stuff? Or should I go to the liquor store and buy some Bailey's? I could just watch it come down from the comfort of my apartment.

I can usually handle the snow (I'm from MN), but I'm nervous because for the first time ever I have an automatic tranny.

Tizzle @59: Stick with the Bailey's. I know snow as well having lived in Boston and Toronto, but snow is so rare around here you will be a sitting duck for some clueless SUV driver.

It seems to have stopped here on Capitol Hill.

Someone please fax me liquor tonight, all we have is triple sec and that's no good for snow. I had to emergency-learn how to drive a stick shift in this stupid ass snow today, i.e. I spent a lot of time stalled half-in half-out of the driveway. While freaking out about being late to work. It was joyous!

Ooops--don't have ALL the ingredients that Riz mentioned. Just half a bottle of Mad Housewife merlot and some Japanese plum wine from my sushi party in October (in case you're wondering who actually buys that shit). But any port in a storm...

Good advice RainMan, you were totally right. I braved the 6 blocks driving to the liquor store. That was easy enough, but no way I want to drive on the east side where I work.

A toast to snow, and to SUV drivers staying off the road, or skidding off it.
